Chapter 19 - Death Glares

Chapter Nineteen: Death Glares

Seraphina's POV

Mrs. Lennon was beauty and brains and humour. Everything all in one, so I could clearly see why those rivals had been jealous of her and tried to taint her image.

She had beautiful luscious long hair that laid on her shoulders in waves and there were small wrinkles around her eyes that actually made her face look like they were smiling all the time. She did like smiling a lot.

Though the look she gave her son now, I could tell Percy wanted to shit his pants, and I'd gladly keep putting him in dangerous situations. Payment for his ill treatment to me when we first met.

"I am sorry about that." Mrs. Lennon said apologetically. "My Percy is a nice young man but he can have his flaws, especially in front of beautiful young ladies."

Hearing her call me beautiful raised my pride greatly. This whole house was swarming with gorgeous butlers, pretty maids, and handsome drivers. It was nice to think someone seemed to see me like them.

Then I heard Percy's low scoff. My werewolf traits were more pronounced than his so he wouldn't know I could pick that up. He didn't think so, did he?

I nodded at Mrs. Lennon. "I understand that, Mrs. Lennon. He was probably nervous when he called me a 'desperate little bitch' and wanted me to die in a snowstorm." I covered my face as if I remembered something dreadful.

I could see Percy trying to fight for his life as his mother sent a dreadful glare at him. "He said all that... to you?" her voice was unusually low for someone glaring like that.

Percy cleared his throat. "I didn't... didn't know her very well then. It was an accident, I can say. You definitely didn't feel offended by that, did you?" he looked at me as if pleading to agree.

So his mother was the God he feared?

Excellent.

I spared him more trouble and waved dismissively. "Mrs. Lennon definitely raised you to be an admirable man so that must've been an accident. I understand that."

Mrs. Lennon smiled with pride, but sent him one last warning glare that made a streak of sweat run down his chin. This was truly entertaining. He left us minutes later.

Mrs. Lennon signalled for a maid to add a dessert to the table. When the maid left, she exhaled and kept her arms on the table. "So, Sera dear, what do you plan to do after those scums had been found out? I mean, about Xexi."

I knew we'd get here. I arranged myself to look confident as I answered. "I plan to start business classes here and know more about the business. I don't think I'm too young to handle it but I wouldn't mind waiting a few years."

She smiled at my answer and tilted her head. "Xexi meant a lot to your mother and her sister. Evelyn even wanted to make an entertainment sections out of it later." She looked sad while saying that part.

"That could still happen." I added to make her brighten up. "If I get Xexi, I don't plan to leave my cousin looking for jobs so its alright if they branch out an entertainment sector we could all manage. It keeps the money rolling."

And from there, we could have actors that'd act out the live actions for the toons Xexi was highly known for. A win-win situation, please.

Mrs. Lennon nodded slowly and pointed at me. "That's a good idea. It's still doable. Xexi hasn't lost its popularity so an entertainment industry would flourish under it."

I beamed with pride for renewing her hope in that. Luther wouldn't be abandoning me with a billionaire company. We'd all handle it together.

The desserts came in and my nose were filled. My eyes remained on the tray till it was delivered to me. "This looks really nice." I mumbled.

"Hm-hm. My cooks are one of the best in the country. They could turn anything to a delicacy." Mrs. Lennon said as she held her cheeks after taking a bite.

I smiled and took a bite myself. It slowly melted into my taste buds and gave a satisfactory taste, just as imagined. I imitated her cheek holding and when she noticed, we shared a laugh.

Night came quickly and I stayed hurled up in my room, sorting out the documents that I had brought back from Theroes Pack.

Luther would be busy all night when he returned. None of the documents seemed to be important but for benefit of doubt, they should be sorted out.

There was a knock on my door and a smirk came to my face as I caught Percy's smell. Did he want to complain about what I said earlier? I'd just make up more next time.

As I got close, I caught the scent of sandalwood and halted my steps. Did he just finish having a bath? His manly scent was filling my nose and I blocked it with my hand. My face already reddened.

He knocked again and I continued to the door. "What do you want to do in my room—" my body froze and my hand came down my nose, flooding it with his scent.

This pervert was wearing only a towel on his waist again!

I took a step back to ease my senses. Under the low light from the blue lightbulb in my room, his half nude body looked attractive.

I pinched myself from having those thoughts and folded my arms. "What do you want—"

"I need my sweater." He entered the room without permission. I grabbed his arm immediately. Sweater? What sweater was he talking about being in my room?

He used the other hand to open a wardrobe and inside were different heavy sweaters of different brands. I slowly left his arm, mostly because they were still wet.

This was embarrassing and I hoped the blue light hid my reddened face. "Why is your sweater in my room?"

He made a short chuckle. "Guess?"

I wouldn't ask him if I knew. I turned away when he wore the sweater over his shoulders because I was scared that towel was loose and would fall. That'd be the end of me.

"I'm busy so please, leave." I returned to the bed to sort the documents. I noticed he came besides me and I wasn't really surprised. His size blocked the light and I abandoned the documents in frustration.

"What's your problem? The light is already low enough." I didn't understand why a blue light would be kept in such a big room.

It didn't offer visibility to anything, only aesthetics. He walked over to a cat shaped lamp and when he switched it on, the bright light connected to the bulbs on the wall.

How did he even know how to do that? My jaw fell when a chandelier that I never knew was present lit up.

I fell on the bed and stared at the chandelier. A very expensive one, I bet. Seriously, who owned this room?
