Chapter 2 - The Hardest Choice in One's Unlife

"I'm done counting your Karma Points," Lord Enma announced, after having read through the list of Tsutomu's good deeds. "You have a total of 5803.45 KP; choose wisely."

Tsutomu was having a difficult time choosing his starting clan. The story of Naruto could be resumed to the story of the Sharingan, while the story of Boruto boiled down to the story of the Byakugan. Having the Byakugan meant never getting caught by surprise, but having the Sharingan meant invincibility in single combat!

What's more, both of their Kekkei Genkai could evolve! The Sharingan could become the Mangekyo, then the Eternal Mangekyo, and finally the Rinnegan itself! As for the more modest Byakugan, it could evolve into the Tenseigan, which was equal to the Rinnegan!

The Senju and Uzumaki clans were also quite attractive, they would grant him a certain level of survivability. As for the others, they weren't even worth considering at all! Especially the Aburame clan, since Tsutomu hated bugs!

Tsutomu skipped over the special talents and Chakra Nature Transformation affinities and looked at the last available cheat: the Character Template. It was just as expensive as the Senju bloodline, so it had to be good.

"I have a question about the Character Template cheat," Tsutomu asked Lord Enma. "Is it limited to Shinobi, or could I pick anything…?"

"Anything," Lord Enma confirmed. "But bear in mind that you will still have to train hard in order to reach 100% of the template, and any foreign powers gained through it will be altered to become chakra-based."

Screw the ninja bloodlines! Tsutomu had already made his choice! He'd pick someone with enough rizz to create his own harem, while having enough power to utterly annihilate any opponent.

"I'll pick my favourite character from my favourite anime!" Tsutomu began.

"DONE!" Lord Enma exclaimed, banging his judge's gavel.

"…Satoru Gojo, from Jujutsu Kaisen!"

Simply put, Satoru Gojo's power levels were beyond broken, and he was handsome enough to make women fall in love with him at first sight! It wasn't even a choice!

"I'll make the necessary arrangements," said Lord Enma with a casual wave of his hand to the blue demon at his side. The blue demon poofed away, and then Enma continued talking. "That leaves you with 803.45 KP. You can always decide how to spend the remainder of your Karma Points later through the system you'll be given; the clan selection was the most important part that had to be done here before your reincarnation."

In Tsutomu's opinion, once he had the Satoru Goju template, any other cheats would become pointless.

"I'll choose later," he said, his voice bursting with excitement. "I'll see what it's like in the Shinobi world first, and then I'll pick the rest to adapt on the fly."

Lord Enma banged his judge's gavel on his desk, and the air seemed to hum with power.

"Very well, the decision is made!" Lord Enma shouted. "Good luck, Okazumi-kun, and strive to become a better person in your next life, so that one day you may attain nirvana!"

And just like that, Tsutomu's soul was whisked away through space and time, towards his new home.

"And another job well done," said Lord Enma with satisfaction. "Mezu, bring out the good tea!"

A red-colored demon with two horns on the side of his head produced a champagne flute from out of nowhere and began carefully pouring the contents of a bottle of Shōchū into it… before proceeding to drop it all on the floor when the blue-colored demon reappeared, popping out of thin air with a puff of a smoke.

"Boss, there's a problem!" Gozu shouted in a panic.

"What is the matter with you, Gozu!?" Lord Enma roared. "Do you wanna get sent through the cycle of reincarnation all over again? If you don't have a good reason for spilling my expensive…"

"There's a problem with the kid's cheat!" Gozu continued ranting. "His favourite anime's not Jujutsu Kaisen, and it's not even close!"

This was a grave problem; once the King of Hell had given his word, it could not be taken back so easily. Okazumi Tsutomu had asked specifically for his favourite character from his favourite anime, which he had granted… and then the kid had specified Satoru Gojo. If there was a discrepancy with his wish, then the first words he had spoken would take precedence!

"Well, if it isn't Jujutsu Kaisen, then what is it?" Lord Enma asked hesitantly.

"My lord, if we're going by the hours watched metric or by appreciation," said Gozu, who was now sweating bullets, "Then his favourite anime is Manyuu Hikenchou! This boy's spent four thousand HOURS watching this show, and that's only counting the first seven episodes!"

"Do I even want to ask…?" Lord Enma asked tentatively.

"My lord, this anime details the adventures of a young girl named Manyuu Chifusa, endowed with the power to steal other women's breast volume and take it for herself!" said Gozu, who was now reading from a soggy magazine he had retrieved from the world of humans. "She travels around and helps those in need, seeking to spread the breast-shaping ways of her clan. Her goal is to find a way to return the breasts she has stolen!"

"This boy is only sixteen," Lord Enma gasped in shock. "Just how…"

Obviously, there was no Satoru Gojo in this anime, and even if there had been one, he wouldn't have been Tsutomu's favourite character.

"Quickly!" he roared. "There's no time to lose! Alert the wish-fulfilment department to go ahead with the Manyuu Chifusa Template System!"

The wheel of reincarnation could not be interrupted under any circumstances, or the consequences would be dire. Souls could be plucked out of the stream of time at any time, but reinserting them into the world of the living required infinite precision.

"I'm on it, sir!" said Mezu, who then disappeared with a puff of brimstone.

Reincarnators' systems needed to be comprehensive; there needed to be an end goal to motivate them, and they had to help them thrive in their new environment! Quests needed to be generated; rewards needed to be prepared; programming needed to be done; and the system needed to be undetectable to the denizens of the world they were sending the reincarnator to!

"Good luck, young boy," Lord Enma murmured as he watched his subordinates mill around in a panic. "Or, should I say… young girl…"
