Chapter 1 - 000

"..."

I rubbed my eyes. The sun's rays coming from the window annoyed me when they reached me on the bed, so I buried my face in a pillow.

"...Zzzzz."

I was catching up on my sleep again when the vacuum cleaner roared in my room, followed by my mom's voice. Her voice was muffled because of the pillows I pressed against my ears, but I could tell she was scolding me again.

But...

I'm still sleepy. Even with the noise in my room, I started to drift back to sleep.

"Zzzzz."

"Allas!"

*Thwack*

Something hit me on the head. It was painful, but I sleepily rubbed the pain away and muttered some words I didn't understand. I picked up her slipper from my pillow and dropped it on the floor. Before I could close my eyes again, I felt her pinch my ear and drag me out of bed.

I winced at the pain and groaned.

Mom kicked me out of the room and closed the door.

The cold air in the morning made me shiver. I looked down at my tank top and shorts, shrugged, and then looked at our dog, who was still asleep on his cushion.

I walked toward him, thinking we could share the cushion together, but my eldest sister, who had come out of her room already dressed, grabbed my hair and dragged me effortlessly toward the kitchen. Breakfast was already on the table.

"Allas, is there any way you could change that attitude?"

My two older sisters looked at me, but I just shoved two fried eggs into my mouth. Dad saw it and laughed, while my sisters shook their heads in disappointment.

*Thwack*

A hand hit me on the back, but it wasn't that hard.

"Allas, you may be the last child but you are the only son and brother in this family. When will you stop acting like this?"

I put down my fork and looked directly into my mom's eyes. They were all shocked because it was the first time in a long while that I looked at someone directly without my head hanging and dozing off.

* munch * munch * munch * munch*

They all waited for me to chew my food and swallow it.

"As always..."

They all anticipated what I had to say, but I just forked my three sausages and gave them to my mom and sisters.

"Thank you for the food. Gotta go."

"Allas..." I didn't look at their faces as I got up and went to my room.

I grabbed a hoodie, my bag, and my keys. My uniform was already in the car, so I'd just prepare myself at my dorm.

Anyway, my name's Allas Salvatore. I'm a university student studying nursing and already in my second year.

And I am always described as, listless.
