Chapter 4 - Good hearted advice

Mark paused for a second before continuing, "...while for others, it's just one of the cities they visit on their journey.

Essentially, the beginner city you end up in is based on what you bring with you. This city, for example, usually summons or serves as a ground for the manifestation or materialization of people who understand level systems and growth systems, or people who are very good at adjusting to new environments and are well-rounded, or people who just love to grow fast. That's why the bonus of this city is experience—since someone who can take care of most things themselves only needs a growth boost to accelerate their development.

Other beginner cities have a physical boost buff that accumulates over time and stays permanently, or a mental buff that heightens intelligence.

Why am I telling you all this? Well, essentially, this is probably the most dangerous starter city. The gap between people here can be way larger than anywhere else, and it's way more demanding than other places aswell. But of course, it's also the most rewarding.

Now, you're probably not wondering how I knew you just arrived, because you might think it's obvious, but it isn't. To break it down, wasn't actually because of your white robes or the way you were looking around like you'd seen all of this for the first time—in fact, that's quite common, since the white robes are often used as casual clothing, and newcomers from other cities often tend to walk around like this.

It was because you seemed to walk too aimlessly. My advice, since you're new, is to go straight to the Adventurers Guild—it's straight down that path."

Mark pointed at the next corner. "And by the way, these two girls over there are my party members. They don't want me to introduce you, so I won't, but our team is called Firefly, since we have two fire-affinity users. Whatever, that's everything. If you see me around, feel free to walk up to me and ask me anything; I'll help if I can."

Lightcast was a little surprised by the competence and decisiveness of this guy, but considering what he'd just been told, it made absolute sense. This city is probably filled with competent people—and therefore equally as dangerous as well-rounded.

"Thank you for the heads-up. If you ever need anything, I'll be glad to assist you," Lightcast said, finally admitting to being a newbie. This made Mark smile and turn around as if his mission was accomplished. As he went back to his party members, he gave Lightcast one last glance and wave before turning away. Whatever he said to his party made both of the women turn to Lightcast in wonder before they followed Marc.

With a new goal and a strangers warnings in mind, Lightcast started to walk straight to the Adventurers Guild. Since Marc had pointed out the next corner and didn't give any more detailed information walking there should be enough to find it. Once at the corner, his suspicion was confirmed, as from that position a giant building further down the street was visible. It was larger than one would expect—it looked more like a big castle than an Adventurers Guild.

Then again, thinking about the nature of this city and its size, it made sense for the Guild to be this large.

Feeling a gust of anticipation as he saw this very sophisticated structure, Lightcast started walking faster towards the Adventurers Guild...
