"I came, I saw, I conquered."-Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar is credited with saying the famous phrase "I came, I saw, I conquered" in 47 BCE. The Latin phrase, veni, vidi, vici, was written in a letter to the Roman Senate to describe his victory over Pharnaces, king of the Bosporan Kingdom, in Asia Minor (now Turkey). The quote has remained popular ever since and is often used in paintings, statues, consumer products, and works. It's also considered one of the most well-known Latin phrases still in use today.
