Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 New Beginnings

Get up for school, shouted an angry and feminine voice. She knocked on the white door. As a young child no more than 12 years old with light brown skin, black, and curly hair, he yawns and rubs his small boy-ish eyes. Another loud shout comes from the other side of the room; the young boy gets up and opens the door with an annoyed and sleepy face. Come on, Malcolm; you need to get ready for your first day of school the voice outside the door said. Malcolm, the person In question, answered, okay, I'll be ready in 5 minutes mom, his mother is an attractive and petite woman with long black hair, a slim waist, and honey-colored skin. Visually, she had the appearance of a beautiful, quiet, capable, resilient, and Intelligent woman looking to be in her early twenties; she had recently moved with her son Malcolm to Tokyo, Japan, which was a mandatory move from her former home in America. Having distant relatives in Japan being the only family she could turn to in the middle of the year due to moving and getting equated to the new culture and etiquette of Japan had been challenging. Her son was upset by the move begining to have more frequent and common dejected conversations and seemed uninterested in his love for his studies as he used to talk about his favorite books he was reading and would always have a joyful and comfortable opinion with his new home, but she felt something had changed catching looks of sadness and despair with Malcolm and overall in the first month or two she had thought he might've never gone back to his formal self. Then suddenly, he was back to normal, his happy, joking-like self almost instantly. She was so shocked by this and asked Malcom what was wrong multiple times, and he responded the same as before, with nothing was wrong, and avoided the question, asking his mother not to ask him anymore. Later this same week, Malcolm began to seem more interested in his studies, as his eyes only shined as bright as they used to when he had gotten a book from the library one day. An in-depth 12th-grade high school study and a documentary of snakes and serpents; after nagging from her son for around a week or so, she had begrudgingly bought the book, being that he was only in 6th grade and how expensive it was. She had told him that when he couldn't read it, he'd have to do extra chores to pay her back, and Malcolm accepted this. Saying if he wins, she'd have to buy him 4 more books on any subject, and the price won't matter. His mother knew Malcolm wouldn't be able to read this book, so she added one condition: he had to write a report or thesis on the book, which he had never done before; his mother explained the basic idea of a thesis. As Malcolm states, he has a 25 percent chance he can beat his mother in this little game of hers to make this gamble there's more interesting; Malcolm suggests that an additional penalty he will suffer if he loses is he will have to learn Japanese, something he refused to do prior. His mother, with a cocky look on her face, arms crossed, don't come crying back to me when you lose kido smiling, shaking Malcom's hand. You are on. Remember, no takebacks as Malcom needs. The same goes for you. Don't get too overconfident. The perspective changes Malcolm still in the past 5 months before his school starts and the present day today... I have completely read this book cover to cover 6 times now hmm...(Malcolm mumbles to himself) and now it's beginning to become dull. This is not to be contradicted by an assumption of this book being uninteresting after reading all the context in which the main focus and eventually conclusions of the conception that snakes, serpents, and other similar reptilians like sea snakes. Overall, I enjoyed this book's in-depth 12th-grade high school study and documentary of snakes and serpents. I have successfully memorized this book. My mother originally believed it would be impossible. Simply put, I extremely dislike people getting to know my true intelligence. This is not due to a fear of being praised, a high ego, or a feeling of pride in my unknown intelligence; I find all these things useless and self-centered in execution, the real reason I -... His mother walks in interrupting his thoughts. Malcolm, how much of your book did you read until you gave up smiling, or were you not even able to read a single chapter of the thing? Hinting a sli cocky tone and self-confidence, Malcolm made a face of fear, recalling back in his chair and desk what... that was today. I thought there still was another 3 days, mouth gaping with an exacerbated look of otter denial spreading across his darkening face. His mother standing reels back in glee, shouting out with pure joy and satisfaction without a second thought, filling her extended hands over the cascading shadows glooming in the room around her son.
