- Haaaa... skeletons alone - archers, swordsmen, barbarians, and pikemen! And there's no boss anywhere! How much longer do I have to wander the maze? - I whimpered three hours later, entering a small room with a balcony. And then I saw this vast hall.
As you can see, the balcony bordered a huge atrium. The ceiling was so high that it reached to the surface level.
As it turns out, doing nothing and just fighting is very boring. I just wanted to have adventures! And it would have been a lot of arse adventures, but no! I don't even have anyone to talk to - my sisters are still asleep, feeling benevolent and calm. I even graded them, when I thought they were taking too long to sleep, a little worried about them.

*♪ Shake it out ♪
An arrow flew nearby, but it arced around me and met the wall. As I looked at the skeleton pulling the second arrow on the bowstring, I froze in place as we stared into each other's eyes. But after a moment I had a fireball in my hand, which flew at the skeleton and quickly caught up with him.
*Bam*
Experience +150.
Now all the previously passive mobs looked back and ran at me. And there were at least a dozen of them. Surprisingly, I had never seen a crowd as large as the one I had seen then. It was as if all the skeletons ran to us, and here there were only the minimum and the most passive ones.
A familiar block followed by a kick and the second skeleton burst with a cloud of vapour.
Experience +150.
Then the third - his sword just split into small particles and he got punched in the face - bursting in the air. The fourth tried to come at me, but what could he do against me - with his knuckles? Another one burst, and then I got tired of giving in to them, so I took them all down in a couple of blows, which even made them freeze in place and burst one after another, leaving behind a rusty sword and chain mail. Eh, no excitement of battle at all. IT'S ALL TOO EASY.
As I approached the cliff and looked down, I noticed that there was only a short distance to the floor. I could have jumped down, but there was an arched door ahead, near which stood a strange figure in closed armour. It was a little hard to see from here. But, it was a biped. In his hands he held a red spear, and attached to the other was a round shield with dark smoke coming from it. And it was a she. Even from here I could see her bulging breasts and slim waist. But because of the helmet, I couldn't see anything else.
The girl was standing straight, pointing her spearhead towards the ground and not moving, staring into the void.
Hmm, first time I'd met someone relatively 'alive' other than stumps and dumb skeletons. And judging by the way she's standing there without even moving, she's... relatively alive. Too bad my eyesight can't see far...
*Slap* A steel gauntlet slapped me on the forehead of my helmet.
I've got a scout, so I'll scout with that. I could just put on a veil and walk up to her. And this option is much safer, because she probably doesn't know about me yet! But damn, I had to test my scouting skills for once, because my poor tired legs were tired of stomping on this dead earth and sand.
I looked around and peered through the only doorway to make sure no one was coming to visit me, so I threw on my cloak and leaned against the wall, palm up. In my mage-sight, the skeleton of a beast began to form on my palm, and in a matter of seconds, it quickly grew misty flesh and took on the shape of a small bat.
Its head resembled a cat's head with ears, and its wings were covered in a dark golden swirl of a single pattern on the sides. Oh, he also had five small dark golden stripes on his forehead, and his eyes were a scarlet hue. On top of that, it had a sort of down scarf around its neck, and its body... didn't really look like a bat's body: it was straight, and its legs ended in regular feet.
Haaahhh... and... is he definitely a scout and not a cute little pet for girls? I mean, I understand the High Dullahan is not supposed to use ghouls, but... he's a bit too conspicuous looking...' I stared at the palm-sized mouse, which started pawing at my hand like some kind of cat... while squeaking something....
'Master. Awaiting orders,' came my telepathic three-word reply... and I stared into the red eyes that glared at me with adoration and expectation. Actually, I would have ordered my scout to fly already, but I thought of one more thing....
I guess I'm a bit perverted... but I'll call her Yuko! Why did I think of a Japanese name? Anyway, she's my mouse, I can do what I want! Eh... well, since I gave it to her, I'll call her that.
'Your name is Yuko - be proud of it, child of the night!' - I said a little solemnly, and the bat directly flashed with happiness and grabbed my thumb with its wings, starting to rub its head against it....
'Got it. Master. Yuko. Will. Trying.'
Cute...' I remarked, stroking the mouse's head, which made her glow with adoration and delight again.
'Well, Yuko, fly and show me what you want!' - I commanded, and the bat nodded its head and spread its wings in a similar gesture, and then jumped from my arms and flapped its wings and soared upwards.
Surprisingly, I could keep in telepathic contact with Yuko even as she flew five metres away from me, and if I wanted to, I could see through her eyes and almost fell to the floor in surprise.
Everything... it was really big... damn, it's a good thing I don't have any diseases... and why was I remembering my childhood right now? Ugh... it was... uncomfortable, but bearable.....

Yuko flapped her wings. Yuko flew forward, following her master's orders and feeling his emotions. Yuko was happy to do her master's bidding and serve him. Yuko would do her best! Yuko would not fail! After all, Master had given Yuko a name - Yuko the child of the night! Yuko really liked that name! I wonder if Master will praise Yuko.
*Whip, whip, whip*
Yuko flew, and made it to her target in a few minutes, then crouched not far from it on some rock. Yuko felt her host's strong mind begin to look through her eyes. Yuko did her best! Standing before her gaze was a biped like her master, wearing the same shell, but it was smaller than her master!
Yuko's target stood motionless in place. Yuko was surprised.
'Hmph, fly a little closer to her...' - Master's voice rang out clearly in Yuko's head and she happily complied.

She's a nice new acquaintance. Really, standing still even as the beastie flew in not far from her. Ahem, I could see through Yuko's eyes now - firm, size three breasts, for some reason... in black chainmail or some semblance of it, a slim and very seductive wasp waist and lush, taut thighs. The armour she wore was very flashy, with red lines all over the surface, like veins, they pulsed faintly in the darkness. The helmet, on the other hand, did not cover the back of her head, and I could see the silver short hair, and the visor of the helmet had the appearance of a long horizontal and red pulsing line.
In her hands... I don't know, but it looked like a strange halberd, not a spear as I had thought before. In her other hand, no, not like that - there was a round shield attached to her other arm, from which emanated a black mist... like mine. It was now standing not far from the closed steel gate. Now that was interesting... so much so that I ordered Yuko to fly closer.
I had an idea to test her judgement, for during the flight I tried and was able to judge the stalactite on the ceiling.
Yuko, spreading her wings, jumped off the stone pillar, and after quickly hovered over the stranger's head. Surprisingly, even so, it stood motionless and only raised its head, staring at Yuko with its red visor and that was it. One movement, nothing else.

Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! I rubbed my hands together with the desire to get my favourite toy... Ahem. I mean... ally! I've already realised that the undead don't attack me first, and given that I'm a higher dullahan, I can supposedly take patronage of it?
I hope so...
Ordering Yuko to crouch somewhere on the ceiling, I cast a cloak of darkness over myself and carefully jumped to the floor.
My heart fluttered...
