Synopsis
Norah had been married to Williams for three years, enduring his cruelty while he cherished his “white moonlight,” Evelyn. Their marriage felt like a prison, but she stayed because she loved him. Everything changed on a stormy night when she lost her baby, Kingston. In agony, she called for an ambulance, but Williams abandoned her, pregnant, to travel abroad with Evelyn for their wedding, a betrayal she only discovered later. Realizing she could never win Williams’ love, Norah quietly penned a divorce agreement and left. Two years later, she returned, surrounded by admirers. Williams, seeing her, cornered her and insisted, “My dear wife, I haven’t signed the divorce decree yet! You can’t escape from me.” Norah smiled indifferently. “Sir, we are done.” His eyes were bloodshot, his voice trembling as he recited their wedding vows. “Done? You vowed to love me in good times and bad, in sickness and in health. Have you forgotten?” Norah looked at him, then at Desmond, their 18-month-old son, and at Thomas, the man who had saved her life and loved her through her darkest times. Should she accept Williams back or follow her heart to Thomas?

Chapter 1 - The neglect

It was around 2:00 pm, and she felt pains around my waist and saw like the baby was coming out.

"This is labor, Mrs. Norah." The maid said to me, as she suggested what we should do. "Let me run to Mr. Williams room, your husband, and inform him about this." Clara added. Through, I thought Williams would have a little sense of sympathy for me. But when Clara reached him in his room, he shouted at her.

"What are you doing in my room?" He asked her curiosly.

Clara almost stammers; she finds it difficult to reply to him.

"Your wife, your wife..." She said, pointing at the sitting.

"What about Norah? Whatever it is, you should settle with her; moreover, that was why you were here as her maid." Williams answered her rudely while I was in the sitting room shouting for help.

"She is on labor." Clara panting as she said to him.

" Woooo! William answered her. "But am not a doctor; you go call the doctor or take her to the hospital to push out that dirty stuff from her stomach. As you can see, it is already late." He answered her.

Clara, left with tears dropping on her face as she approached me, wept it in a hurry.

"What about Williams?" I asked her.

Clara breathed down and had nothing more to say to me than, I guess he is sick; he was shivering when I met him.

I hear about it, knees that William has refused to assist me. I asked Clara to call on the driver. Suddenly we arrived at the hospital, and I was rushed to the labor room.

"Push, push." The nurse said to me. I kept pushing until I delivered my baby boy, Kingston, who looks exactly like his father.

"With this, I will have his heart towards me." I said to myself as I looked at my baby boy.

"Where is your husband, Mr. Williams?" The doctor asked me.

I pretended not to have heard him.

"Mrs. Norah, is there anything you are hiding from me? Remember, I am your husband's cousin; whatever it is, I will assist you with." Doctor Alexander spoke. "In the meantime, you are not to pay a fine for this." He spoke as Clara was about to pay my bills with the cashier.

"My husband isn't in town. He traveled two days ago." I answered, covering my man.

"You lies, we both hung out yesterday before your labor, though he didn't speak or say anything about you. I think something is going on." Doctor insisted.

"We are fine." I answered him.

But doctor Alexander was so eager that he made a call to my husband.

"Has the bitch finally pushed out her dirty from the stomach.?" My husband asked while with Evelyn, his side chick on the bed.

"What do you mean by that, Mr. Williams? Is that how heartless you are?" Alexander questions him.

"I don't have time for this, young man. I was busy when you called "he hinges the phone her doctor Alexander.

"This is serious." Alexander nodded his head. "Now I wonder if he never speaks about his wife whenever we are together." He added.

Two days later, after I had been discharged from the hospital, I got home with the baby on the bed, expecting my husband to look at him, only to find him bringing Evelyn to our matrimonial home.

" Woooo." Evelyn exclaimed looking at my baby, while Mr. Williams hissed and drew her attention.

"She is yet to explain to me whose child is that." He said to my face.

"The baby looks exactly like you." Evelyn said she felt the joy of a newly born baby.

"She has widening up her leg for a stranger in my absence and has put the responsibility on me. But here are my words to you, Norah: You have failed if you think I will take care of this child; you should go and look for his father, not me. I can't father a child I know nothing about." Mr. Williams spoke into my marrow. I felt sharp pains in my heart, crying while looking at my baby.

"Is this how I will grow my baby with a heartless husband? He couldn't change even after seeing his son." I asked within me. Shortly after, I began to hear Evelyn cumming from my matrimonial bed. I was then deep in pain. "I have tolerated him enough, but what will I do?" I got my mind at myself. Looking at my child, I said.

"You father have refused to take responsibility for you; he rejects you as he has rejected me indirectly. I have no option that to see your welbing myself." I said to my smiling baby. His smile caught my attention, as it put a smile on my face.

"I think it is time you divorce her and make me your wife." Evelyn requested from him.

"What else do you think I am doing? I have hated her from the very first time I met you. I realized that you are my kind of woman. Loving you is all I care about, not for that dirty element at the sitting room." He added.

This got Evelyn blushing so much that she put her breast on his mouth to suck.

"I cherished you more, baby; you are the best thing that has happened to me. And I promised to spend the rest of my life with you." Williams kept saying under the influence of alcohol.

Through this, I lost the joy in me; aside from Kingston, my son smiles that get me alive. Days turn to weaks and weaks to months. Mr. Williams celebrated Evelyn's 23th birthday party that went viral, yet he hasn't done that to me. Our wedding was done in a small gathering only because he wanted to please his late mother by marrying me, marrying me out of pity. I thought that was over, not until I realized the luxurious car he had presented to Evelyn as her birthday gift. But haven't for a day provided for his baby boy; talk more of me.
