Chapter 10 - A mother dilemma

" I am not having a fight with my father; it's with the prince who wouldn't let me enjoy my peace. Kingston, I know I have been rejected by my father for your sake, but that doesn't mean I made the wrong choice. This is the best choice I have ever made, and I am pleased with it," Princess Lynn said to Kingston.

"Whatever it is, my darling, I am ready to fight with you," Kingston replied.

Meanwhile, Queen Isabella, determined to see her daughter, sneaked into Kingston's kingdom with the help of Lycan. Despite the king's decree that no one from the royal home should visit or try to see Lynn, under the threat of facing his wrath, Isabella was resolute. When she arrived, tears filled her heart as she saw how happy Lynn was, but she still wanted her back at the palace.

"How did you get here, Mother?" Lynn asked, surprised.

"I directed her, my princess," Lycan answered.

"I am not your princess, nor am I the Bloodstone Kingdom's princess. I am the future Queen of this kingdom. My father thought he could control my life, but I always find my own fortune," Lynn declared boldly.

Queen Isabella's eyes softened as she looked at her daughter. "Lynn, your father only wants what's best for you. He believes that returning to the palace is the right path."

Lynn shook her head. "Mother, I have found my place here. Kingston and I are building a future together. I need you to understand and support my decision."

Isabella sighed, torn between her loyalty to the king and her love for her daughter. "I see the happiness in your eyes, Lynn. I will speak to your father, but you must promise to stay safe and strong."

Lynn embraced her mother. "Thank you, Mother. Your support means everything to me."

As Isabella prepared to leave, she turned to Lycan. "Take care of her, Lycan. Ensure she is protected at all costs."

Lycan bowed. "I will, Your Majesty."

With a heavy heart, Isabella left the kingdom, hoping that one day, the king would understand and accept Lynn's choices.

Lynn drew her mother's attention, her voice firm and unwavering. "Take this message to my father: He has rejected me, and I have also rejected him until he does the needful. I can't displease myself to please him."

Queen Isabella's face paled as she absorbed her daughter's words. Her eyes filled with a mixture of sorrow and determination. "Lynn, your father is a proud man, but he loves you deeply. He believes that marrying Lucas is the best path for you."

Lynn's expression hardened. "Mother, I have made my choice. Kingston is my future, and I will not be swayed. If Father truly loves me, he will respect my decision."

Isabella took a deep breath, her voice trembling slightly. "I understand your resolve, Lynn, but you must know that your father's heart is breaking. He feels betrayed and fears for your safety."

Lynn's eyes softened for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. "I am safe here, Mother. Kingston and I are building a life together. I need you to convey my words to Father. He must understand that I will not return under his conditions."

Queen Isabella nodded slowly, tears brimming in her eyes. "I will speak to him, Lynn. But promise me you will stay strong and true to yourself."

Lynn embraced her mother briefly. "I promise, Mother. And thank you for coming here, despite everything."

As Isabella turned to leave, she looked back at her daughter one last time. "Be safe, my child. I will do everything in my power to make your father see reason."

With a heavy heart, Queen Isabella departed, knowing the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, but determined to bridge the chasm between her daughter and the king.

Kingston was pleased with the way Lynn stood her ground against her mother. Her strength and determination only made him love her more. As Queen Isabella left, Kingston decided to follow her, wanting to make his feelings clear.

"I love your daughter, and I wouldn't lose her for anything, not even Lucas," Kingston said as he caught up with Queen Isabella.

"Was this why you ran after me, you element of frustration?" Queen Isabella asked, her voice laced with irritation.

"I might be an element of frustration, but the joy of your daughter is as much mine as it is hers," Kingston answered calmly.

"Don't mock me, Kingston, before I get angry with you. Remember, you came here alone," Isabella warned, her eyes narrowing.

As Queen Isabella was about to speak further, Lynn appeared, surprising both of them. "I thought you were asleep," Kingston said, astonished.

"I might be asleep, but my heart is awake to guide you. I know you are strong, but not strong enough to face my kingdom alone. I felt danger while lying in bed, which made me trace your steps," Lynn answered, her voice steady.

"Mother, I love you, and I wouldn't want you to be in danger because of me. But first, I need to handle Lucas myself. After that, I will decide what to do about Father. Since he hates me, I will not only hate him back but also disobey his choices," Lynn declared, her eyes blazing with determination.

Queen Isabella looked at her daughter, torn between her duty to the king and her love for Lynn. "Lynn, your father is a stubborn man, but he believes he is doing what is best for you. You must be careful."

"I will, Mother. But I need you to understand that my path is with Kingston. I will face whatever comes my way, including Lucas and Father," Lynn replied.

Kingston stepped forward, taking Lynn's hand. "We will face it together, Lynn. No matter what happens, we will stand strong."

Isabella sighed, seeing the resolve in both their eyes. "Very well. I will speak to your father, but you must promise to stay safe."

"We promise," Lynn and Kingston said in unison.

With a heavy heart, Queen Isabella turned to leave, knowing that the road ahead would be difficult, but hoping that love would ultimately prevail.

Queen Isabella took a deep breath, trying to find the right words to convince her daughter. "Lynn, I understand that you believe you love Kingston, but think about the future. Your father has arranged a marriage with Lucas because he believes it will secure our kingdom's stability and prosperity. Lucas is a powerful ally."

Lynn's eyes flashed with defiance. "Mother, I don't care about alliances or power. I care about love and happiness. Kingston makes me happy in a way Lucas never could."

Isabella's voice softened, pleading. "But Lynn, love can be fleeting. What if this happiness doesn't last? What if you regret this decision later? Your father and I only want what's best for you."

Lynn shook her head, her resolve unwavering. "Mother, I have never been more certain of anything in my life. Kingston is my future. He respects me, supports me, and loves me for who I am. I can't imagine a life without him."

Queen Isabella sighed, her heart aching. "Lynn, you are young. You have your whole life ahead of you. Please, reconsider. Think about the consequences of defying your father."

Lynn stepped closer to her mother, her voice firm but gentle. "Mother, I know you worry about me, but I need you to trust me. I have found my place here with Kingston. I love him deeply, and I am willing to face any consequences for that love."

Isabella's eyes filled with tears. "Lynn, I see how much you care for him, but I fear for your safety and your future. Your father will not take this lightly."

Lynn embraced her mother, her voice softening. "I know, Mother. But I am ready to face whatever comes my way. Kingston and I will stand together, no matter what. Please, try to understand and support me."

Queen Isabella held her daughter tightly, torn between her duty to the king and her love for Lynn. "I will speak to your father, but you must promise me to stay safe and be cautious."

"I promise, Mother," Lynn whispered. "Thank you for understanding."

As they parted, Isabella looked at Kingston, who stood resolutely by Lynn's side. "Take care of her, Kingston. She means everything to me."

"I will, Your Majesty," Kingston replied, his voice filled with determination.

With a heavy heart, Queen Isabella left, hoping that one day, the king would understand and accept Lynn's choices.

As the sun began to set over the Bloodstone Kingdom, King Aiden noticed the absence of his wife, Queen Isabella. The palace felt unusually quiet, and a sense of unease settled over him. He summoned his guards and Queen Isabella's maid, but none could tell him her whereabouts. Growing more anxious, he checked on Lycan, only to find him missing as well.

"So, she has sneaked off to visit her daughter," King Aiden muttered to himself, his eyes narrowing in anger. "She should remain there since she has decided to disobey my order."

His voice grew louder, echoing through the empty halls. "She will be going back there to live with her so-called daughter, and if she insists on staying, I will lock her up!" King Aiden's rage transformed him, his demeanor becoming beastly as he paced the room, speaking to himself.

Meanwhile, Queen Isabella was making her way back to the Bloodstone Kingdom, her heart heavy with the confrontation she had just endured with Lynn. She knew the consequences of her actions but was determined to support her daughter.

As she approached the palace gates, she was met by a furious King Aiden. "So, you defied me and went to see Lynn," he snarled.

"Yes, I did," Isabella replied calmly, though her heart pounded in her chest. "I needed to see our daughter and understand her choices."

"Understand her choices?" Aiden roared. "She has chosen to defy me, and now you have done the same. You will stay with her if you continue this defiance!"

Isabella stood her ground, her voice steady. "Aiden, our daughter is strong and determined. She has found love with Kingston, and we must respect her decision. Locking me up will not change that."

King Aiden's eyes blazed with fury. "You dare to speak to me of respect? You have betrayed me, Isabella. Both you and Lynn will face the consequences of your actions."

Isabella took a deep breath, her resolve unwavering. "I will face whatever comes, but I will not abandon our daughter. She needs our support, not our wrath."

Aiden's rage seemed to reach its peak, but he was at a loss for words. The queen's calm defiance left him momentarily speechless. He turned away, his mind racing with thoughts of retribution and control.

As Isabella watched him, she knew that the battle for Lynn's freedom and happiness was far from over. But she was prepared to fight, no matter the cost.
