Meral's voice broke through the heavy silence, sharp and intrusive. Somehow, she had managed to enter Taya's private chambers, a place Orig had kept untouched for years. The room exuded a powerful fragrance, one that was both intoxicating and overwhelming, a mix of the dried roses Taya used to love and the faint musk of memories long gone.
Orig stirred, the words finally reaching him as he opened his eyes groggily. The realization struck him—he had fallen asleep on the floor yet again. All night, he had been lying there, clutching the edge of the bed as if doing so would tether him to what he had lost. It was only then that he noticed the presence of Meral, standing in the doorway, her disdainful gaze fixed on him.
"Get out," he muttered hoarsely, his voice barely audible.
Meral, however, wasn't deterred. Her lips curled into a mocking smile, her tone dripping with venom.
