Chapter 73: Rain Girl Has Nothing to Do

"Your Highness Viserys, Your Highness Daenerys."

  What the hell!

Everyone present looked at each other in confusion. In fact, Viserys couldn't remember where this man came from for a moment.

The man in his forties in front of him said:

"My Lord Viserys, My Lord Daenerys, my name is Griffin, but that is an alias. My real name is Jon Connington, Lord of Griffin's Roost.

  Once followed Prince Rhaegar."

Viserys thought for a moment, then remembered. He spoke:

  "The Battle of the Bells?"

Clinton's body trembled and he responded:

"Yes, the Battle of the Bells."

The so-called Battle of Bells was a battle in the War of the Usurper.

Robert was surrounded by Clinton in Shitang Town, and this dead bootlicker had to jump into the bed of a prostitute to avoid being hunted down.

Clinton could have burned down Stonetown and killed Robert, but his honor did not allow him to kill innocent people.

But because of the defeat in this battle, he was expelled by the Mad King Iris.

Later he joined the Golden Group and rose through the ranks.

According to the original plot, Long Er Ge and Dany should have left Braavos half a year ago.

This way I wouldn't have met Clinton.

I didn't expect that by some strange coincidence, we would meet in this way.

"I remember now. Get up now."

Clinton raised his head and looked at Brother Long Er, tears glistening faintly in the corners of his wrinkled eyes.

After all, Viserys and Rhaegar are brothers and look quite similar. Clinton should have seen the shadow of Rhaegar in the second brother Long.

But he still tried to calm himself down. In his heart, there was only Rhaegar's "orphan".

"Are you still serving in the Golden Company?"

"Yes, I was planning to leave last year, but after hearing the news about the two princes, I stayed for the time being."

"Why are you looking for me now?"

Viserys' tone was a little cold, but Connington thought he could 'understand' it.

After all, the most difficult days for them were over.

It's naturally not so pleasing to the eye if I pop up now.

Sensing that Viserys seemed to be somewhat resentful, Clinton said:

"I hope to follow the two highnesses."

"No, you have been expelled by my father, and there is no longer any subordinate relationship between you and the Targaryens. You can follow whoever you want to follow and live the life you want."

  Viserys turned and said:

  "Kyle, send this gentleman away."

  "etc!"

Connington thought Viserys was resentful of him for letting Robert go, so he said quickly:

"The late King Aerys was merciful and only expelled me, but if it weren't for me, Prince Rhaegar and the late King wouldn't have... wouldn't have...

Please give me a chance to atone for my sins."

Others were moved by Clinton's performance.

If someone else saw this again, they would probably think that Viserys had picked up a "confidant".

However, when Viserys saw him like this, his brows furrowed.

He stood up and patted Clinton on the shoulder.

Clinton felt as if there was a pair of iron pliers on his shoulders, which could crush them at any time.

"Sir Clinton, you have never told the truth since you entered the door."

Clinton's heart was shaken, and he felt as if his eardrums were ringing.

He didn't know when he revealed his flaw.

"Your Highness, I don't understand what you mean." Clinton said nervously, a figure flashing through his mind.

  "You really don't understand!"

He applied force with his hands, and Clinton felt a tingling sensation in his shoulders.

Such grip strength is too terrifying.

  "Please tell me, Your Highness."

Viserys bent down, put his face only half a foot away from him, looked Connington in the eyes and said:

"I'll say this one last time. Don't let me say it, or I'll kill you the next time you show up in front of me."

Feeling Viserys' cold attitude, Dany was a little confused.

Since this 'uncle' used to follow big brother Rega, he should be a good person.

I have also heard the story of the "Battle of the Bells" and know that he should be held responsible for this incident.

But didn't Long Erge tell me that some things should be judged by the heart rather than the deeds? Why did he treat him like this?

Finally, after some struggle, Clinton spoke:

"His Highness Rhaegar's child is still alive, and I have been protecting him."

  Eldest brother's child?

Wasn't eldest brother's child killed by the Mountain?

Dany opened her eyes wide in disbelief as if she had heard explosive news.

Viserys sat back in his chair and said:

"Speak, I want to hear more than just this. Tell me what you, Varys, and Illyrio have planned. Tell me everything!"

'How-how is it possible! How could he know!'

Clinton's eyes were filled with horror. He looked into Viserys's eyes and felt as if his very insides were being seen through.

Eventually, Clinton told everything he knew.

How Varys switched the child, how Illyrio gave the child to him, and how he pretended to be the child's father and took care of him.

"What about us? What about Dany and I? How did you arrange it?"

Clinton didn't dare to say anything now, because their arrangement for Viserys and his sister was quite heartbreaking.

It was to use the brother and sister as targets to attract firepower and ensure that 'Little Aegon' grew up safely.

And this is what Clinton was determined to hide.

"You can't say it, can you? You think that 'little Aegon' has a higher right to inherit than Dany and me, so you push us to the front.

Let us brothers and sisters wander,

Let us brothers and sisters be assassinated,

Let us be calculated by others,

Even if Dany is sold to a brothel one day, I am willing to be killed? ! "

Viserys' voice was stern and his tone was so cold that Regis, who was standing behind him, couldn't help but shiver.

"No!" Clinton's defense seemed particularly pale.

However, Viserys ignored him and continued:

"If that's the case, why did you come to me? Just keep training that little guy, right? Isn't it enough to just use us as a shield? You want me to kneel down and pledge my loyalty to that little bastard!!"

Hearing this, Clinton was already trembling all over.

This involves his and Illyrio's next plan.

Viserys is now growing rapidly. He is not only qualified as a target to attract fire, but overqualified.

They needed to have Viserys completely under their control.

Clinton's goal was to bring him into the Golden Group so that he could be monitored.

However, as if he was defending himself, he said in a somewhat weak tone:

"Your Highness, little Aegon is the orphan of Prince Rhaegar. The prophecy says that the dragon has three heads. Now is the time for us to work together to take back the Iron Throne!"

"What use would I have for that broken chair? And when is it your turn to interfere in Targaryen affairs?"

"Let me tell you something." He turned around and said:

"Regis, Kyle, you two go out first and guard the door."

The two nodded and walked past Clinton, who was almost limp.

Viserys drew him to the table and wrote a sentence with his finger dipped in water.

  "How is this possible!"

  Clinton couldn't believe his eyes.
