Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Sometimes I always imagine, what if or something happens the way I imagine, but I never thought, that crazy things that I can only imagine, could happen.

Reincarnation? Transmigration? Whatever it is, it's what I'm experiencing right now.

I don't have an interesting life background, to become an MC in the Isekai story.

So, why?

*Sigh*

I can only sit quietly, leaning on the cold wall of the cave behind me.

And why do I have to be naked? At least whoever put me in this situation gave me some clothes, because I feel cold now.

*Body shudder*

*Rain noises*

I look outside the place that I live in right now, it's raining, I don't know if I'm in a cave, well maybe.

Earlier I had tried to walk further into this cave and found that the end was not too far from the entrance.

*Sigh*

"System? Open System? Alakazam? Shazam? Anything?" I mentioned all the things that could possibly activate the system or whatever it was, and I tried to sound not too loud, because I was afraid of attracting the attention of anyone or anything that had bad intentions, of course I couldn't be prejudiced against something, it was just that I tried to be more vigilant, yes vigilant.

I just want to figure it out, if I have a system or not.

"...."

"Nothing." I said softly.

"Hmmm." I tried to think hard.

Well, not all MC's have a system when in isekai, but in most of the stories I read, they have at least a cheat ability that can help them survive, even make them stronger.

So, do I have one? Maybe it would be easier, if I had a system, even if it was a system with sassy personality.

"...."

Do I have to get out of here? But what about clothes? Well, I could just go out now, it's just that what if this place is far from the settlement? And what if I decide to go back, then forget the way?

Maybe I can mark the path that I have traveled so as not to get lost, but what if I get sick? It's raining right now and I don't know, for how long this rain will stop. it will become an anticlimax if I just arrived in another world and then die because of illness right on the same day, Well that might not happen.

"...." I blinked my eyes.

Despite my bad thoughts, there could be settlements around here, even though I was naked, I could endure my embarrassment, because I was also just a child, yes in this world, I was a child.

I don't know exactly how old I am now, but I can ask them for help, right? Or not.

What if the people I ask for help turn out to be people who do human trafficking?

*Noises of hungry stomach*

"I'm hungry." While lowering my head.

"...."

I raised my head and looked around. There's nothing here either, outside there doesn't seem to be any fruits that I can reach.

"...." What if I eat the leaves. At least I have something to eat now. Then I stood up and walked towards the cave entrance.

I also picked up the leaves near the entrance of the cave, fortunately it was still within reach, because of the long branches.

"...." I don't know what this leaf is, but I'm going to eat it.

*Crunch*

"What I expected? It's leaf flavor..." I said resignedly while eating the leaves that I picked.

---|||---

I don't know how much I've eaten and fortunately it made me somewhat full, and there are still a few leaves left.

What about these remaining leaves, Should I throw them away? Keep them? What for?

"...." At a time like this, I want the cheat ability, so that I don't think about trivial matters like this.

"!" I was startled from my seat.

In front of me, there was a blue screen, where there were empty rows of columns.

It looked like the inventory menu in Minecraft.

Wait, Is it the inventory menu in Minecraft?

"Is this inventory?"

What if my cheat ability, is inventory? If that's true, how do I put objects into here.

I tried to manually insert the leaf in my hand into this screen.

*Swish*

My hand just went through the screen in front of me.

"...."

How about I imagine that the leaf in my hand is saved into my inventory menu.

"...."

"It worked!.." I'm exclaimed not so loud.

In my inventory menu now, there is a leaf stored.

So the activation is only through thought.

I thought I didn't have any cheat ability, turns out I do, even if it's just inventory, it doesn't matter to me.

But why only now? Are there certain conditions to be able to access this inventory menu? Is it because I didn't think of something about storage things? Then the activation of the inventory menu is not active? That seems to be the case.

Then what about retrieving items from the inventory? With a thought again.

"...." I imagined the leaf I had stored earlier returning to my hand.

"...." It turned out that way.

Can I retrieving the item by using the manual method? Like taking it by hand or touching it with a finger.

I put the leaf I took out earlier back into the inventory, then on the inventory screen, I touched it with my finger.

"...." There wasn't any sound effect, wait.

"What is this."

There were other options when I touched the leaf in the inventory, the options were copy, paste, and delete.

"...." I widened my eyes for an instant, then tried to calm myself down by taking a deep breath and then letting it out.

*Inhale* *exhale*

I selected the copy option and then pasted it into the empty space in the inventory.

"Holy..." I tried not to continue the word.

There were two of the same leaf in my inventory now, what was the difference?

I took the leaf I just copied and the original leaf.

"Same... Well, they are both leaves anyway." I said flatly.

Is this copy and paste option, only limited to certain items? Or can anything?

"Wait a minute, What about the use of this ability? Does it consume something Like stamina or perhaps, life energy?

*Gulp*

This, I'm getting scared, maybe it doesn't have much effect because I only copied one leaf, what if there are many.

What if it's not stamina that's being consumed? But life energy instead?

It's not funny if I become good as dead in this world, just because I tried the limit of my ability.

But if I don't try it, I won't know and that makes me curious.

"...." My eyes twitched.

I shook my head, "Curiosity kills the cat."

---|||---

I survived? Probably, because there were a total of 9,000,000 leaves in my inventory and I didn't feel anything, other than cold, well I covered my body with a lot of leaves and that helped quite a bit, it's little bit itchy though.

And as for the limit of how much I can copy and paste, I don't know at the moment, because when I tried again, copied 9,000,000 leaves and then pasted again, I have a total of 18,000,000 leaves.

Well, it seems that there is no limit, or I don't feel any changes in my body, except for the slight itchiness that keeps growing, maybe I'll get rid of these leaves that on my body.

But before that, I want to make sure that this isn't just a one-time thing. I need to test my ability in more complex situations.

I looked around the cave, spotting a small rock near the entrance. I picked it up and focused my thoughts, store it into my inventory.

The rock disappeared into the inventory screen. I decided to copy the rock a hundred times and then paste them inside my inventory. The process went smoothly, and my mind raced with the possibilities. I could potentially copy anything within my reach and multiply it, but I didn't want to push my luck just yet. After all, I had no idea what the long-term effects of using this ability might be.

Or not?

"...."

Well, looks like I'll have to find a toilet soon, I thought to myself. I've been so engrossed with this newfound ability, I forgot about the basic needs of my physical body.

---|||---

I cautiously stepped out of the cave, feeling the cold rain against my skin. My eyes scanning the area for any signs of life or civilization. The rain obscured my vision, but I could make out the outlines of trees and a small stream not too far away.

Making my way towards the stream, I thought about the potential of my newfound ability. It's like I have an infinite storage space with infinite item at my disposal. This could be incredibly useful for survival in this world. I could stockpile food, weapons, or even clothes if I find them.

But, as I approached the stream, I see a building across the way, it's not close but not too far, either. It's like a beacon of hope in this wet and dreary world. I squinted my eyes to get a better look, the rain was making it hard to see.

Well, hold it for a while to find a toilet or do it here on the little stream?

I chose the first option, enduring the discomfort for the sake of finding Toilet. The building looked damaged, with burn marks and small holes around. It was clear that it hadn't been maintained in a long time, but it was still standing, which meant it could provide shelter and possibly a toilet.

---|||---

As I approached the building, I made sure to stay low and quiet, not wanting to attract any unwanted attention. The rain was getting heavier, and the thunderstorm above me didn't help with my visibility or comfort. But I pushed through, feeling the cold water run down my body.

It's quite here, is it nobody's here?

I thought to myself as I cautiously approached the building. The silence was eerie, and the only sound was the rain pitter-pattering against the ground and my own heartbeat echoing in my ears.

Once I was close enough, I could see that the building was an abandoned house. The door was slightly ajar, and I could make out the faint smell of mold and decay. But the prospect of finding a toilet was too tempting to pass up.

Slowly, I pushed the door open, letting it creak loudly in the quiet. The interior was dark, and I didn't want to risk lighting a fire or using any light source that could be seen from the outside. I cautiously stepped in, feeling my way through the house.

The floorboards beneath my feet were damp and cold, and there was a layer of dust and grime that suggested no one had been here for quite some time. The air was stale, but the smell of the rain outside was a welcome relief from the mustiness inside.

The house was surprisingly well-preserved despite its dilapidated exterior. I carefully made my way through the darkness and the occasional flash of lightning from outside the windows cast eerie shadows that danced across the floor. The layout was simple, and I quickly found a small bathroom. The sight of a toilet brought a sigh of relief, and then I used it.

---|||---

After taking care of my immediate needs, I took a moment to look around the room. The walls were still good, and the sink was rusted over, but the toilet still functioned, there's a bathroom too, well I gotta need a bath now.

As I done with fresh bath, I heard a faint noise from upstairs. My heart raced, and I paused, listening intently. The noise grew louder, and I realized it was the sound of something moving.

I gripped the rock in my hand, ready to defend myself. Cautiously, I made my way up the creaking stairs, each step echoing in the emptiness. The sound grew louder, and my heart pounded in my chest. Was it an animal seeking shelter from the storm, or something more sinister?

The upstairs was dimly lit by the light coming through the gaps in the broken roof with water droplets. I spotted a figure moving in the corner, and my hand tightened around the rock. As I approached, the figure turned, revealing a young girl, maybe not more than six years old, dressed in tattered clothes, her eyes wide with fear. She was holding a small, shivering kitten, trying to comfort it from the cold.

I froze for a second, realizing she might be more scared of me than I was of her. "H-hello," I said, trying to keep my voice as calm as possible. The little girl looked up at me, her eyes wide with shock. She clutched the kitten tighter to her chest, and it let out a feeble meow.

"Who... who are you? And... Why are you naked?" she stuttered, taking a step back.

Her innocent question brought a blush to my cheeks. "It's a long story, but I can promise you I mean no harm," I said softly, trying to put her at ease.

"What's important is, are you okay? Do you live here alone?"

The girl nodded, her eyes looked away from my body. "I don't live here, I'm just stopping by for a while," she said in a small voice.

"What's your name?" I asked gently.

"Konan." she replied.

"Konan, that's a pretty name." I said, trying to put a smile on my face and figure it out that, The Konan who is in front of me right now, is the same Konan that one of the founders of Akatsuki.

Is it Naruto world?

My heart skipped a beat as the name 'Konan' registered in my mind. In the world of Naruto, she was a powerful kunoichi and one of the founding members of Akatsuki. But here, she was just a scared little girl, seeking shelter from the storm.

"What's your name?" she asked, curiosity and caution in her eyes.

Damn, I forgot to prepare a name for myself.

"My name is..." I paused for a moment, thinking of a name that wouldn't sound too suspicious. "I'm Haruto." It was the first thing that came to mind, a simple, common name in the Shinobi World.

Konan studied me for a few moments before her expression softened slightly. "What are you doing here, Haruto?" she questioned, still clutching the kitten tightly.

"Well... Same like you, I'm also looking for a shelter," I replied.

Her eyes searched mine, looking for any sign of deceit. After a moment, she seemed to decide that I wasn't a threat. She held out the kitten to me. "This is my only friend here," she said.

I took the trembling creature into my arms, feeling its warmth against my chest. "What's its name?" I asked, stroking it gently.

"Her name is Ame," Konan said, a hint of a smile appearing on her face. "It's been just the two of us since..." Her voice trailed off, and her eyes clouded over with what looked like sadness.

I nodded, not pushing her to elaborate. "It's nice to meet you, Ame," I said, looking at the kitten. It was a tiny, wet thing, but it had a certain charm to it. I could feel its little heart beating fast, probably from cold. I turned to the girl, "How about we find a drier place for Ame and you to rest? And clothes for me, obviously," I added with a chuckle.

Konan looked up at me, the smile playing on her lips. She nodded and led the way to a back room that was slightly more protected from the rain. Inside, there was a pile of old blankets and clothes. Well, I'm little bit shorter than her, but it's okay.

"You can use these," she said, pointing to the clothes. "I found them here. They're not perfect, but they're better than not wear anything."

I took the clothes and started to put them on, feeling a bit awkward doing it in front of a child, well I'm a child too, actually. The clothes were old and worn, but they fit surprisingly well, considering they were likely left behind by someone much larger than me.

Once dressed, I couldn't help but feel a bit more human again. The itchiness from the leaves was gone, and the warmth was a welcome change from the cold rain. "Thanks, Konan," I said, turning to her.

Her eyes lit up a bit more at the sight of me in actual clothes. "You're welcome," she murmured, still clutching the blankets around her.

"Do you... do you know how to light a fire?"

Konan's question brought me back to reality. "Is there any lighter or match here?" I asked, looking around the room.

"There's a fireplace in the main room," she said, pointing towards the stairs. "But I don't have anything to light it with."

"Is there anyone in this place or in another building? Maybe they have something that could help us," I suggested.

Konan shook her head. "I don't know, but there's no one in every building I've been to." She sighed heavily, the weight of her words hanging in the damp air.

I think, I'll have to go outside. Who knows, there may be an abandoned shop or something with matches or a lighter.

"Alright, I'll go out and look for something to start a fire," I said to her.

Konan looked at me with a mix of hope and worry. "You'll come back, right?" she asked, clutching Ame tightly to her chest.

"Of course, I'll be back," I assured her, giving her a comforting smile. "I just need to find something to keep us warm."

I stepped out into the rain, I borrowed a raincoat that Konan had, it's a bit too big for me but better than nothing. The wind howled through the abandoned streets. I scanned the area, looking for any sign of life or a place that might have what I needed.

After a while, I spotted a small shop in the distance, its windows shattered and its door hanging off its hinges. As I approached, I could see that it was a convenience store, long abandoned and ransacked. The shelves were empty, but there was a chance I could find something useful in the ruins.

Making my way inside, I carefully stepped over the debris, my eyes peeled for any matches or a lighter. The raincoat was doing its job, but the cold was starting to seep through.

The store was in a sorry state, with rotting goods scattered across the floor. The cash register was open and empty, a testament to the desperation of the past. But amidst the ruins, I spotted a small box on the floor, half-hidden under a collapsed shelf.

I picked it up, revealing a pack of matches.

"The power of plot, baby." I said with a smile adorned my face.

The box was damp but the matches inside looked dry. I struck one against the side of the box, and to my relief, it lit. The warm glow illuminated my face, and I felt a surge of hope. Then I start to find any food or something that could be useful.

I searched through the mess, finding a few canned goods that hadn't been smashed. I grabbed them, feeling their weight in my hand. Well for food and matches, I have store it in my inventory and don't forget to copy it too.

I didn't want to waste any more time, so I hurried back to the house, eager to share the good news with Konan.
