James didn't have to point the people. The guards came forward on their own.
"So, you eight were in charge of verifying the guests at the venue entrance. Am I right?" Kyrell asked for confirmation.
The men nodded instantly.
"Officer Jenkins. You have the men. You need to interrogate them and you'll find a lead," Kyrell said, ignoring the looks of shock on everyone's faces.
While nobody breathed a word, it was clear that the guards were stunned by his words. They stared at him in horror as if he'd convict them of the murders and put them in prison right away.
"Miss Lawrence, I'd like to interrogate them in my police station, if that isn't a problem with you." Officer Jenkins asked the woman who was studying Kyrell with a strange glint in her eyes.
"Please." Sienna gestured for him to do as he pleased. She wouldn't hinder in their interrogation.
"Miss, we aren't guilty. We did nothing," one of the men exclaimed, gaining everyone's attention to him.
"I never said you are guilty." Kyrell deadpanned, his lips arching in triumph. "Why are you agitated?"
The man bit his tongue and stared at him in resentment. He was almost glaring at him.
Sienna wasn't surprised to have found one of the moles this quickly. However, she sure felt that the man's willpower was too weak. Otherwise, he wouldn't have fallen for Kyrell's words blindly.
"Wait a minute!" James intervened, his eyes widening in horror. "Now I remember. I was previously in charge of verifying the guests at the venue entrance while Adam was supposed to join the security team inside the venue. But we switched at the last moment."
James was looking at Adam and it wasn't impossible to notice how visibly pale Adam had gone all of a sudden.
"May I ask why you exchanged spots?" Kyrell asked, giving Sienna a knowing look.
"It was Adam. He wanted to join the team verifying the guests and I didn't have any qualms with it," James responded. "Now that I think about it, there seems to be a ploy."
"James, don't malign me. I felt you were better at handling the security inside the venue," Adam defended himself immediately. But his defense was weak. Nobody believed him.
"How long have you been working for us?" Sienna questioned all of a sudden and Adam's head snapped towards her instantly.
"Miss, it has been eight months since I started working in the Lawrence security group," Adam replied and Sienna glanced at Frank who nodded in agreement.
"What about you, James?"
"Miss, I have been in the Lawrence security team for almost four years."
"I see."
"Is something the matter, Miss Lawrence?" Officer Jenkins asked when he noticed her lost in thoughts.
"No, Officer. I apologize for interrupting. Please continue with your interrogation."
Although Sienna's expression was unreadable, Kyrell noticed a flicker of emotion pass through her eyes and he pursed his lips thoughtfully.
"When you were verifying the guests, did you notice something amiss?" Officer Jenkins took over and asked the eight men. "Think well before you answer me."
The men remained silent for some time as they thought about it.
"Did something strange happen?" Officer Jenkins clarified and one of the men's expressions changed suddenly.
"I'm uncertain if this seems strange," he started, "but people started pushing all of a sudden and some even fell. It took us a few minutes to bring people into order."
"Was the crowd large at that time?" Kyrell questioned.
"No. It wasn't that crowded," the man replied.
"When the push and pull happened, did you leave your task of verifying the people?"
"No, Sir. Three from the team remained while the remaining of us went to check the cause of the commotion."
"Can you tell who the three were?"
"Yes." The man pointed at three men and one among them was Adam.
"Would you mind revealing the truth yourself or do you want us to corner you from all the sides?" Kyrell stood before Adam and looked at him imposingly.
Being a few inches taller than him, Kyrell had the advantage and he suppressed him with his towering figure.
"I..." Adam's throat ran dry and he couldn't speak immediately. He broke out into a cold sweat and it was evident to everyone that the man was guilty. His face said it all.
Kyrell glanced at Sienna who was giving Adam a death stare. Her eyes were filled with anger and he felt bad for her.
Pulling Adam by his neck, he forced him to move with him. His sudden action shocked everyone, including Officer Jenkins. Sienna was the only one who didn't show much reaction.
Pushing Adam to his knees, Kyrell pulled his hair. "I would prefer if you spoke up now."
Adam groaned in pain and he attempted to free himself. But Kyrell was too strong. He couldn't move at all. His scalp was close to being ripped apart. The pain was so intense that he tried to punch him.
But Kyrell was quick to escape him and let go of his hair. The next instant, he twisted his hand behind his back and Adam hollered in misery.
His agonizing scream sent chills down everyone's spine while they stood frozen.
"Miss Lawrence, I'm innocent," Adam pleaded through his screams.
"Mr. Winchester, let him go," Sienna ordered as she clenched her fists.
"Miss Lawrence?" Kyrell was taken aback and he looked at her in disbelief.
"Let him go." Sienna gave Kyrell a look and a silent conversation ensued between them.
Kyrell let of him and Adam stood up immediately, rubbing his bruised arm.
"You say you are innocent, Adam." Sienna looked at him coldly. Her tone was oddly calm. But Frank understood that she was irate. Adam was doomed for sure.
Adam nodded.
"Unfortunately, I couldn't retrieve the surveillance footage outside the venue. But..." Sienna opened a video on her phone. "I have this."
She played the video of her family being shot cold and held it for everyone to see.
Although Sienna showed it to everyone, her eyes were fixed on Adam.
"Does anybody recognize them? The venue had only one entrance." Sienna didn't explain much. But everyone understood her.
"How did the seven people enter the venue and that too they were able to bring in their weapons without anyone noticing?"
"Miss Lawrence..." Adam felt defeated and he was just about to speak when blood gushed out of his mouth. He dropped dead the next instant.
