Chapter 16 - CHAPTER FIFTEEN: KIDNAPPED

General Andrew Finley's eyes narrowed as he gazed at Vice President Paul Landon, his mind racing with suspicion. "Impossible" was all he could utter, his disbelief evident. He knew Castiel Wellington, had worked with her, and trusted her with his life. The idea that she would kidnap the President was ludicrous.

But as he looked into Paul's eyes, he saw a sinister glint that made his blood run cold. The Vice President's eyes seemed to bore into his soul, and the General felt a shiver run down his spine. He noticed the soldiers flanking Paul, their eyes gleaming with an otherworldly red light, and the short horns and fangs that seemed to sprout from their faces.

The General's mind raced as he pieced together the evidence. Paul Landon was not what he seemed. He was something far more sinister, something evil incarnate. The General's hand instinctively went to his gun, but he knew he was outnumbered. He was surrounded by demonic forces, and he knew he had to tread carefully to survive.

"You're not human, are you?" the General accused, his voice low and steady. "What have you done with the President?" General Finley's eyes widened in terror as he realized the true nature of the creature standing before him. His mind raced with horror as he tried to comprehend the extent of the betrayal. The President, kidnapped by a demon in disguise! America, in the hands of a malevolent force!

As Paul's eyes gleamed with an otherworldly light, Finley felt his courage falter for the first time in his life. He tried to speak, but his voice caught in his throat. The creature's gaze seemed to pierce through him, and he felt a chill run down his spine.

And then, in an instant, it was over. The creature's hand snapped out, and Finley's neck was broken. His vision faded to black as he crumpled to the ground, his last thought a desperate cry for his country's safety.

As Carolyn sat on the couch, trying to muster her strength and composure, she couldn't help but think about the events of the day that had led her to this moment. She had been betrayed by her own Vice President, Paul Landon, who had revealed himself to be the demon Asmodeus. She had witnessed him grow horns and fangs, and had seen the military turn against her, following his orders instead of hers.

As she thought of Castiel, she felt a mix of emotions: gratitude, fear, and uncertainty. She knew that Castiel was a powerful warrior, but she also knew that she was a mysterious and unpredictable one. And Carolyn couldn't help but wonder what would happen next, now that she was in Castiel's debt.

Carolyn's mind was reeling with the shocking revelations of the day. She had gone from thinking of Castiel as a trusted ally to discovering that she was an angel, the Angel of Death no less. And if that wasn't enough, her own Vice President had turned out to be a demon. She was still trying to wrap her head around it all.

As she flipped through the TV channels, she was surprised to find that her disappearance hadn't been reported yet. She wasn't sure if she should be relieved or concerned. If the news got out, it would likely spark a national crisis, and she would be at the center of it.

Feeling the urgent need to use the restroom, Carolyn quickly got up and made her way down the white hallway, her feet sinking into the plush carpet. She was grateful for the brief distraction from her thoughts, but she knew she couldn't avoid them for long. She would have to face the reality of her situation soon enough.

"Damn it, where was the friggin' toilet?" Carolyn muttered to herself.

"Just get into one of the guest rooms, you'll see one," a deep Spanish-accented voice said, interrupting her reverie.

Carolyn turned to see a handsome man, about six feet seven inches tall, with brown hair and piercing electric blue eyes. "Thanks, a lot," she said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Anything for the President of America," he replied with a wink.

Carolyn's eyes narrowed. "And you are...since I'm at a disadvantage here...are you a demon or Castiel's boyfriend?" she asked bluntly.

The man laughed out loud, almost doubling over. "Nah, Madame President, I'm just Rafael, Castiel's older brother."

Carolyn's eyes widened in surprise, and she felt her face flush with embarrassment. "Ah, sorry...I didn't mean to assume..." she trailed off, feeling a bit flustered.

Rafael chuckled. "No worries, Madame President. I'm used to it."

Carolyn's face flushed with embarrassment as she quickly made her way into one of the guest rooms, her heart racing from the unexpected encounter with Rafael, Castiel's older brother. She couldn't believe she had just asked him if he was a demon or Castiel's boyfriend, and his laughter still echoed in her mind. She felt like she had lost all composure, and her usual confidence was nowhere to be found.

As she entered the guest room, she quickly made her way to the bathroom, closing the door behind her and taking a deep breath. She couldn't believe the situation she was in - hiding in a stranger's house, surrounded by supernatural beings, and feeling like a vulnerable human for the first time in her life.

She took a moment to collect herself, splashing water on her face and trying to regain her composure. She knew she had to be strong, for herself and for her country. But it was hard to shake off the feeling of vulnerability that had settled in her chest.
