Chapter 33 - Trial Tomb Of The Fallen Body Cultivator (4)

During Jiang Feng's breakthrough, the surrounding spiritual energy went berserk for a short while before calming down as the breakthrough came to an end.

It was also then did the chamber lit up again with multiple formation symbols, all of them rotating around the room, flowing into center between Jiang Feng's brows. His eyes peeled open as all of it entered his head, a new sensation and information obtained.

"How are you feeling?"

Noticing that Jiang Feng has awoke from his cultivation, Ling asked without turning around.

"Stronger, and there seems to be a map with a place crossed out in my mind." Jiang Feng replied.

"That should be true tomb of the fallen body cultivator."

"There fake tombs in the cultivation world?"

"Of course, plenty of them I would say. Most used it as a disguise so that only the one led by fate can find their true legacy."

"Is that so…"

Spending another half an hour enjoying the little hot spring, the two finally got up and left the tomb.

Returning to the cities, the couple spent the rest of the day in their rooms as they planned for the next destination.

Leaving as soon as day came, the two soared into the sky as they arrived at yet another city south from the City Of Fitness. The challenges and trials were easy to complete, now that Jiang Feng was a Foundation Building Entrance Stage cultivator, speeding up their process as they stayed not more than 3 days in a single city.

Three weeks passed just like that as Jiang Feng and Ling entered their fifteenth tomb.

"Oh? Finally one with some monsters."

Muttering out words as her eyes peered into the darkness, an interested smile rose on Ling's face as her words raised questions from Jiang Feng.

"Monsters?"

"Yes. Different from the Stone Soldiers and Undead Soldiers that you've fought in my tomb, the monsters in this tomb seemed to be mutated animals from your world. Their spiritual energies are pitifully weak, though."

Turning away as he heard Ling's comments, Jiang Feng's curiosity began to rise as they move forward.

"Whoa!"

Lifting his hands as he attempted to block the blur of white attacking him, Jiang Feng was surprised to find that he felt no pain.

Raising his head, a layer of dense spiritual energy enveloped his body as it protected him from harm.

"Thanks for saving me, Ling."

"You should focus on these rabbits first, it'll be a good final training for you before we return back to the Jiang Family's Residency."

Thanking Ling for her save, Jiang Feng shifted his attention back to the opponents in front of him.

Like Ling had said, they were a bunch of white rabbits.

Possessing a thin amount of spiritual energy in them, comparable to a fraction of those in Qi Circulation Entrance Stage, their figures underwent mutation as it enhanced their battle capabilities.

With large front teeth about the size of three inches, and puffed legs similar to the soda can, one can already feel the danger it has toward regular humans.

Unfortunately for them, Jiang Feng wasn't a regular human.

'I guess I should try the Battle Arts and Spells that Ling taught me a while ago.' Jiang Feng thought inwardly.

Concentrating his spiritual energy around his legs, Jiang Feng began sprinting as his speed faced a boost.

His figure reached the back of the rabbits in an instant, with his sword readied to swing from the side as his spiritual energy covering its blade, creating a flaming sword.

The rabbits were no easy prey despite the huge difference in spiritual energies, as they dodge the attack by jumping backwards, nearly hitting the ceiling before falling to the ground.

One made a move as soon as it landed, pouncing towards Jiang Feng's face as its mouth widened, revealing its insides full of sharp teeth.

'Scary!'

Extending his arm, Jiang Feng covered the rabbit with his own spiritual energy just like what Ling did for him. However, its effects was vastly different as sparks of flame appeared out of nowhere, incinerating the rabbit within seconds.

Kicking it towards the group of rabbits, the burning lump of meat was quickly avoided by its companions as they all launched at Jiang Feng together.

Unable to deal with all of them at the same time, Jiang Feng had no choice but to dodge the attacks as his legs were enveloped by spiritual energy again, buffing his speed.

Taking advantage that they were still in the air, Jiang Feng swung his flaming sword again, slashing through the small figures as they fell onto the ground in two piece.

"A minute spent. Not bad, same goes for your usage of those Battle Arts." Ling praised.

"Thanks."

Deactivating the Battle Arts, Jiang Feng began going around to collect the roasted meat. His mind was on another matter as he re-imagined the way he fought earlier, analyzing moments where he could improve.

Firstly being the spell that hastened his leg movements.

It was a nameless Spell at the rank of Qi Entrance, created since the start of the history of cultivation, with no one knowing where it originated from.

The Spell was just to envelop body parts using one's own spiritual energy, enhancing their functions for as long as spiritual energy is applied.

Jiang Feng felt that the possibilities brought by this Spell in combat can be plenty, with it being able to be applied on his wrists and arms to increase swing speed when attacking his opponents, or just on the waist when needing to dodge.

The next was the Art that allowed his sword to be set on flames, being named 'Flame Creation'.

It was a Qi Middle Stage Art that took Jiang Feng way longer to learn compared to the other skills, mainly due to his lack of cultivation base back then.

It's effects were very enticing to all newbie cultivators, but its restrictions were also relatively strict.

The flame can be created on any occasion as long as there is sufficient spiritual energy to support it. However, the flame created must first be attached to an item, one that can resist its heat and maintain the state so for a period of time.

Now that he had advanced in cultivation, his mastery over it significantly increased, allowing the flames produced to be more lethal and fiery, also being less damaging to his weapon.

Once all of the meat on the ground was collected, Jiang Feng kept them into a pouch similar in size to Ling's. Though, the material was rougher and much more crude-looking.

Learning from Ling, he came to knew such items were called space pouches, mainly used to store a cultivator's luggage when they travel between worlds and throughout the starry skies. Some also used them to save space when opening a store, allowing more storage to keep supplies.

He was also able to obtain a few more of them and the treasures inside thanks to their previous owners that left them behind, making him a small vault of rare loots.

Taking out a double terminated crystal that shone dimly with a shade of cyan, Jiang Feng began closing his eyes as he absorbed the spiritual energy within it, replenishing his lost strength from the battle.

"You should prevent from using those spiritual stones too much, they're more useful as currencies in the cultivation world." Ling warned as she eyed at the crystal in Jiang Feng's hands.

"I'll take note of that."

Moving back to Ling's side, the two began moving deeper into the tomb.

The path they took was a slope that slowly lead them further into the ground, with the density of spiritual energy around them being higher than the outside world.

Despite the lack of light, both Jiang Feng and Ling were able to see clearly in the dark as their pupils shone with the color of neon green.

It was the effect of a Qi Middle Stage Art that Ling recently taught Jiang Feng, called 'Night Eyes'.

As it name suggests, the Art allows users to see in the dark, its clarity depending on the mastery the user holds in it.

The Art is also another one which origins are unknown, suddenly appearing in the history of cultivation.

Using the Art throughout their walk, Jiang Feng and Ling arrived at a cliff in a larger tunnel leading further down, its bottom too far to be estimated.

"How dedicated the creator is, for him to dug out such a deep and large tunnel all for the sake of passing down his legacy. I suppose the rewards waiting would be very beneficial to you, Feng."

Staring down the endless abyss, Ling looked unfaltered as she spoke.

"That maybe so, but how are we going to get down? My spiritual energy most likely isn't enough to supply my descend to the ground below."

Standing next to Ling, Jiang Feng could only imagine falling from such a height as the ending made him shudder. His eyes turned as they landed on Ling, waiting to see what kind of decision would she make.

"Who says we're going down slowly?"

"Eh?"

"Hehe~"

Grabbing Jiang Feng's hand, Ling began sprinting towards the edge as she dragged him along, rendering Jiang Feng unable to resist.

"We'll be jumping now!"

Just a second after saying that, two figures went pass the edge of the cliff as they floated momentarily in the air, falling downwards like a bullet in the next instant.

Jiang Feng's screams were accompanied by Ling's laughter, creating a strange combination that slowly silenced the loud shouting.

The speed of their descend continued to accelerate as they fall, with wind blowing at them like a typhoon.

Jiang Feng's fear had also lessened as the long drop bored him, lowering his guards, but that changed once again as the landing ground entered his sight, spiking up his adrenaline.

"Use Spiritual Energy Manipulation!"

Shouting at him as a reminder, Ling's smile continued to stick on her face as excitement pumped her blood. Seeing that she didn't planned to do what she told him, Jiang Feng could only grit his teeth and cover the both of them with his spiritual energy, barely preventing themselves from becoming meat pastes.
