Lin Shuya forced a smile at the corner of her lips. "Mother's here, after all. I made more so she could enjoy it."
Lin Shuya looked disheveled, her hair a mess.
Qin Hai frowned in displeasure, yet he was somewhat comforted. "Yar, it's enough that you have the heart to do it."
"Rubbish!" Madam Qin arrived just in time to hear Lin Shuya's words and her son's praise. She spat in disdain, "I was the one who told her to cook so much for you, Ah Hai. And she dared to argue, saying it was too much, that four dishes would suffice. Is this how she welcomes me?"
Qin Hai felt a flicker of dissatisfaction towards Lin Shuya but chose to stay silent.
"Enough, let's eat."
Scanning the living room, Qin Hai noticed Qin Churou was nowhere to be seen. His frown deepened. "Where's Rou'er? Shouldn't she be back by now?"
It was nearly six o'clock. Lin Shuya, also worried, quickly said, "I'll give her a call."
