Chapter 33 - The Spendthrift Qin Sheng

In stark contrast to the anxious investors around her, Qin Sheng appeared remarkably composed. She occasionally glanced up from her phone to check the stock prices, her long lashes casting delicate shadows over her eyes, giving her an air of serene grace, as if she were untouched by the chaos around her.

Some of the traders nearby caught sight of Qin Sheng's calm demeanor, and their own anxiety seemed to diminish. Seeing that she was watching the same stock, they felt a wave of self-reproach. If a young girl could remain unflustered, why couldn't they? After all, their worry wouldn't change the situation. Reassuring themselves in this way, they began to relax and even mimicked her by playing on their phones.

By around noon, the stock showed signs of stabilizing. Qin Sheng straightened in her seat and began methodically clicking her mouse, making large purchases of the stock. To avoid suspicion, she created a virtual account and divided her purchases into batches. Her actions were deliberate, ensuring the stock wouldn't surge in the short term.

As she continued to work on her computer, a man next to her glanced over, his eyes widening in shock. "Two and a half million?" he murmured, nearly dropping his jaw in disbelief as he saw her spend two and a half million yuan to purchase nearly a million shares in one go.

Recovering from his surprise, he kindly offered a word of caution. "Young lady, it's not wise to buy this stock now. The company recently had some bad news, and it might go bankrupt in a few days. You could lose all your money."

"Hey, hey, hey, young lady, you—" Before he could finish, he saw Qin Sheng make another two and a half million purchase. The man clutched his chest, aghast. Where did this spendthrift girl come from? That's five million yuan!

His exclamation drew others over. As they saw the stock Qin Sheng was buying, they began to murmur amongst themselves.

"This girl is far too wasteful, spending her family's money like this. Doesn't she care about how hard her family must have worked to earn it?"

"Maybe she's a rich heiress who doesn't care about losing five million."

"That could be it. After all, someone who can throw around five million isn't from an ordinary family."

In this trading hall, while many could afford to invest tens of thousands, very few would risk five million on a single stock. On any given day, you could count those who did on one hand.

To them, Qin Sheng was nothing short of a prodigal, buying up a stock from a company on the brink of bankruptcy—and not just a little, but a lot.

Qin Sheng had now invested her entire ten million yuan in this single stock. Hearing the chatter around her, she leaned back in her chair, her posture relaxed and leisurely.

"This stock will rise," Qin Sheng said calmly, her eyes on the computer screen.

The woman shook her head dismissively, her voice skeptical. "Young lady, don't be so reckless with your words. You may not fear losing money, but we're not wealthy like you—we can't afford to lose."

Her comment was met with nods of agreement from several others. They chuckled, returning to their seats. They had no time to waste on idle talk with some frivolous rich girl; they were still desperately trying to sell off their shares.

To them, only a fool or someone with too much money to waste would buy this stock.

Yet one man, the one who had been watching Qin Sheng from behind, lingered a little longer. His eyes were bright, and there was a peculiar glint in them as he stared at Qin Sheng. He rubbed his hands together, lowering his voice as he asked, "Young lady, how do you know this stock will go up?"

Qin Sheng's face remained expressionless. "Intuition," she replied simply.

The man's excitement was doused instantly, like a bucket of cold water poured over his head. "Just a hunch, huh," he muttered under his breath, his shoulders slumping as he returned to his seat, visibly disappointed.
