Chapter 15 - Testing eachother 2

"Earth Style: Earth Spike Technique!" Yasu shouted, slamming his hands into the ground. Jagged spikes of earth erupted, hurtling toward Kakashi.

Kakashi's eyes widened as he quickly dropped low, executing a substitution jutsu. In an instant, he was replaced by a nearby log, which shattered as the spikes struck it. Yasu smirked, but he wasn't finished yet.

"Clone Technique!" he declared, creating three copies of himself that rushed forward, surrounding Kakashi. Taking advantage of the distraction, the original Yasu lunged forward with a swift punch aimed at Kakashi's side.

However, Kakashi was ready. He dodged the punch and, with a quick motion, countered by slashing at one of the clones with his kunai. It vanished in a puff of smoke. Kakashi's eyes darted around, assessing the remaining clones. He knew they posed no real threat; Yasu's basic Clone Technique produced illusions that couldn't inflict physical harm and could be easily dispelled.

As the three clones closed in, Kakashi sidestepped to the left, ignoring the attacks from the other two. "Poof! Poof!" The remaining clones vanished, leaving Kakashi standing unscathed.

"Gotcha!" he called out, swinging his kunai at the original Yasu. Anticipating the move, Yasu quickly ducked and rolled away, avoiding the strike. He pushed off the ground and launched himself at Kakashi, attempting a powerful kick.

Kakashi sidestepped just in time, letting Yasu's momentum carry him past. As Yasu regained his footing, he glanced back at Kakashi, impressed but determined to keep pushing.

"Let's see what else you can do," Yasu said, his competitive spirit ignited.

Realizing that relying solely on taijutsu was taking too long, Kakashi decided to take the fight seriously. He reached for a scroll and summoned a sword from it.

Yasu's eyes widened slightly as he adjusted to the new weapon. "Ready to take this seriously?" he asked, already anticipating Kakashi's prowess, knowing who his father was.

"Hm," Kakashi nodded, taking a combat stance. Observing from the sidelines, Mikoto thought, The White Fang was one of the strongest swordsmen of this era; he should have trained Kakashi. I can see how much he knows now.

Kazuki chimed in, "He knows kenjutsu?"

Yasu nodded, a grin spreading across his face. He lunged forward, trying to catch Kakashi off guard with a series of rapid slashes, his kunai darting like a snake. But Kakashi, now more confident, sidestepped and parried the blows with precision, his movements fluid and instinctive.

The two boys began to circle each other, tension building in the air. Yasu, now more cautious, aimed a quick slash toward Kakashi's legs. Kakashi ducked and spun, using his sword to deflect the blow while simultaneously moving into a counterattack, aiming for Yasu's shoulder.

Yasu barely managed to block the strike, their weapons clashing once more. Both boys were focused, breathing heavily as they exchanged quick blows, the sound of steel echoing across the training ground.

Kakashi, maintaining his agility, attempted to close the distance, aiming a quick thrust at Yasu's torso. Yasu twisted aside, but Kakashi followed up with a low sweep of his sword, attempting to knock Yasu off balance. Yasu jumped back, narrowly avoiding the strike, observing Kakashi's transformed demeanor and noting how fierce and dangerous he had become.

Kazuki watched intently, impressed by Kakashi's ability to keep up. He's got some skills for sure, she thought, recognizing that Kakashi's fighting style was unorthodox yet effective.

As the spar continued, both boys breathed harder, testing the limits of the other's speed and strength. Kakashi relied on his agility and quick thinking, pushing Yasu into a defensive position.

Determined to gain the upper hand, Yasu decided to escalate the battle. "Earth Style: Mud Wall!" he shouted, slamming his hands to the ground. A wall of mud erupted between them, forming a formidable barrier.

Within seconds, however, he spotted Kakashi atop the wall, leaping toward him. Yasu reacted swiftly, moving to intercept the attack—only for his hand to pass through smoke. It was merely a clone.

Before he could fully recover, he noticed a glint of steel as Kakashi's sword came slashing in from the side. Yasu dodged just in time, narrowly avoiding the strike.

With swift footwork, Kakashi pressed forward, determined to catch Yasu off guard. Just as he was about to land a blow, Yasu executed the Body Flicker Technique, disappearing in a blur and once again evading Kakashi's blade.

Before they could continue, Mikoto stepped between them. "That's enough. Kakashi won this match."

Yasu didn't object; the moment he backed down, he already knew he had lost. His eyes lingered on Kakashi, thinking, Is he really half my age? He's already on par with me.

Of course, Yasu didn't believe Kakashi was outright superior—he hadn't used everything he had. His ninken weren't available, and he hadn't been fighting with full force. The situation would have been different if he had. Still, he couldn't help but take Kakashi seriously from now on.

Kazuki nodded as she approached, a newfound respect for Kakashi in her eyes. "Let's see what else you can do during the mission," she said. She was eager to spar with him right away, but since he had just finished a match, he would need some rest first. Unlike Yasu, Kazuki was skilled with a sword herself and had noticed the precision in Kakashi's slashes. The moment he began using his blade, his fighting style shifted; his offensive ability increased dramatically, allowing him to corner Yasu with kenjutsu alone.

She didn't realize that, with Jin's template, Kakashi could defeat a Genin team by himself. He still hadn't fully mastered applying his skills in battle, which he could develop further during the mission.

Mikoto decided to wrap up the meeting. "Alright, I have some work to do. Kazuki, Yasu, you two can fill Kakashi in on what he needs to know for tomorrow's mission." With that, she exploded into a cloud of smoke before vanishing.

A shadow clone—that's what was on their minds. When did she change? Kakashi wondered, puzzled. He had been keeping track of both her and Kazuki during the fight and couldn't recall her creating it initially. Was it a shadow clone from the start?

"Let me tell you what you'll need for tomorrow," Kazuki said, clearly not surprised by what had just happened.

Looks like it's not the first time, Kakashi thought.
