Ulfur exited the kitchen and immediately Edwina and Aaron stood up and maintained distance between themselves.
The silence in the kitchen was deafening. They were not even breathing properly. They didn't want anyone to hear that they were together. They kept avoiding each other's gaze. The memory of the kiss was extremely fresh in their minds.
"I… I should go!" somehow Edwina whispered between heavy breaths. She kept the sponge over the kitchen island and was ready to move away when Aaron grabbed her hand and stopped her mid-way.
"Aaron!" she gasped.
"Ed!" he said softly, his voice was so soft that it made her heart ache. She was forced to look at him. She opened her mouth to say something but immediately closed up.
"About… about what just happened… I mean before Ulfur walked in…" he said. She knew he was going to talk about the kiss.
