Chapter 243 - Chapter 242: Abundant Ebon Deer Squad Assembles

Under Fu Xuan's guidance, Pei Guang and his group arrived at the Cloud Knights' base camp in the Alchemy Commission. The Cloud Knights had successfully captured the area under her command. Inside, disciples personnel or those pretending to be uninvolved members of the Alchemy Commission, were now under strict supervision.

Additionally, several captured Disciples of Sanctus Medicus were being interrogated. Unfortunately, no valuable information had been obtained thus far.

Fu Xuan pointed ahead. "Your companions are over there. Thanks to them, the battle went unusually smoothly—almost too smoothly."

Following her gesture, Pei Guang spotted Dan Heng leaning against a tree, wearing his trademark headgear and clutching the pink bunny. Not far from him, Seele was happily munching on a meat bun.

Having fought hard, Seele had snagged a few buns from a food stall back in the Artisanship Commission. Delicious and filling, these buns were perfect for her, who planned to stock up so she could sustain herself in the next battle.

As she was strategizing, a familiar, reliable voice called out to her.

"Seele! Dan Heng!"

Hearing the voice, Seele blinked in surprise before turning around. The moment she saw Pei Guang, a wave of relief washed over her.

Looking toward the source of the voice, Seele felt an immense weight lift off her shoulders. "Ah Guang, Stelle, March, Uncle Yang—you're finally here!"

At that moment, Seele felt truly relaxed. Over the past journey, she had used her brain more in a few days than she had in the previous month. She had to plan battles, strategize movements, and manage a large team, including assigning resources effectively.

But her concerns weren't limited to combat. During their time at the Artisanship Commission, she had also collected a lot of tech and blueprints. She wasn't sure if they would be useful, but she figured they might benefit Belobog or her fellow Trailblazers. And if not, perhaps they could earn goodwill from Xianzhou, as Pei Guang had done in Belobog last time.

Pei Guang greeted warmly, "We're here! You've all worked hard!"

From a trash can nearby, Silver Wolf peeked her head out, scanning the area to ensure no one was paying attention before speaking in a hushed tone. "Ah Guang, back at the Artisanship Commission, did you notice anything... strange? Like, maybe the rewards felt a little... lacking?"

Silver Wolf's eyes gleamed with mischief. She was eager to see Pei Guang's reaction to the idea of missing out on loot. However, her hopes were dashed when Pei Guang responded with complete indifference.

"Lacking? Not at all! We farmed plenty of materials in a limited pool. If you want, I can craft full sets for everyone later. We have more than enough."

Silver Wolf pressed further, boldly asking, "Don't you think the Artisanship Commission's resources seemed... suspiciously depleted?"

Pei Guang looked puzzled. "Huh? I wouldn't know what the Commission had in the first place. If you mean the barrels, we opened those. Got what we got. If it's useful, keep it. If not, no big deal."

Pei Guang's philosophy was always clear: if good loot dropped, whoever opened it should use it. If someone else needed it, they'd share. Jealousy? Sure, that was part of the game. Watching others get amazing drops could stir envy, even make you green with it.

But as far as Pei Guang was concerned, teamwork trumped everything. A stronger team meant better results in the long run.

Seele, standing nearby, couldn't help but tease, "She was planning to take all the treasures herself and then laugh at how mad you'd be. But now…"

Hearing Seele reveal her plan, Silver Wolf grumbled in annoyance. "What's the point if you don't even get mad? So boring! Why don't I ever meet teammates like you in games who don't care when I take all the loot?"

Pei Guang smirked. "Probably because I've been in your situation too many times myself…"

Silver Wolf: "…"

Seele: "…"

Watching the pair fall silent, Pei Guang cheerfully rummaged through his storage space and pulled out an array of items. "Alright, enough sulking. At the Artisanship Commission, we took down an Elite deer and scored a ton of loot. Check it out—see if any of this gear works for you. Dan Heng! Dan Heng, stop spacing out; we're handing out equipment!"

Hearing Pei Guang's call, Dan Heng walked over silently. Ever since their return to Xianzhou, especially after encountering official personnel, Dan Heng had kept a low profile. Forbidden from stepping foot on the Xianzhou, his presence here could endanger his companions if discovered.

Thus, he was curious to see if Pei Guang had anything better to help conceal his identity. While his current headgear was effective, it drew too much attention.

Pei Guang pulled out the Abundant Ebon Deer set.

Seeing the gear, Dan Heng asked gravely, "These... are they made from Denizens of Abundance?"

Pei Guang nodded. "That's right!"

March 7th patted the antlered helmet made from the Abundant Deer's skull. "Look at this! It's a masterpiece born of Ah Guang's, Uncle Yang's, and my collective brilliance: the Abundant Ebon Deer Skull Helmet! Then there's this—Abundant Ebon Deer leather armor, pants, gloves... According to Ah Guang, wearing the full set boosts health, stamina, and recovery rate significantly. It's incredible! And—just like everything else Ah Guang makes—it doesn't even feel like you're wearing armor."

March 7th wanted to add more. She couldn't wrap her head around how Pei Guang's equipment worked. Somehow, you could instantly equip it from storage, and once worn, it didn't affect movement or vision at all. Heavy to carry, but once equipped, it felt weightless—just like a game character. As long as you stayed under the weight limit, you could run around with ease. Cross the limit, though, and you'd barely be able to move.

Pei Guang explained casually, "Exactly. It's simple. Just put the gear in storage and equip it directly. Instant application."

After contemplating for a moment, Dan Heng picked up the gear and began to put it on. He swapped his ugly headgear for the Abundant Ebon Deer Skull Helmet and followed Pei Guang's instructions to equip the rest of the set.

Seeing Dan Heng gear up, Pei Guang also equipped his own set. Stelle, after some thought, followed suit. With Stelle geared up, March 7th and Seele quickly donned theirs too.

What about Welt? After watching the scene for a moment, he silently moved to a quiet corner. There, he began fiddling with the Creation Engine. Inspired by recent battles, Welt felt a surge of creativity. He envisioned reconstructing the massive robots he'd built in the past, this time enhancing their functionality to match his long-held dreams.

In that moment, Welt's eyes gleamed with the fervor of youth. Immersed in his studies, he poured all his knowledge into designing larger, more powerful, and more aesthetically impressive battle robots.

As the Trailblazers prepared for their next move, Fu Xuan approached, hoping to discuss the next steps and, truthfully, to ask Pei Guang for help. She greeted him out of habit, but upon seeing the group, she froze mid-step.

Not far away, in the spot Pei Guang and his team had previously occupied, she now saw six "Abominations of Abundance" deep in conversation.

In truth, the bone helmets Pei Guang crafted didn't completely cover their faces. However, the special antlered headgear effect added by March 7th made them appear as full-blown Abundant Ebon Deer heads instead of humans. The enchantment was applied directly to the gear, making it nearly impossible for onlookers to see them as anything but Abominations of Abundance!

Fu Xuan stared in stunned silence for a moment before blurting out, "Where did all these Abominations of Abundance come from?!"

Despite her words, her intuition immediately told her the truth. There was no doubt in her mind—this had to be another one of Pei Guang's antics.

Pei Guang raised a hand innocently. "Are you talking about us? This is just armor made from Denizens of Abundance. It might look a bit like we're Abominations of Abundance, but trust us, we're still human."

Hearing this, Stelle glanced at Pei Guang and muttered, "But Ah Guang, the things you do… Even I couldn't pull this off, not to mention normal people."

Pei Guang shrugged. "Doesn't matter. I'm not just a person—I'm a player. It's no big deal."

March 7th chimed in enthusiastically, "Exactly! Ah Guang is Ah Guang, and that's all that matters!"

Dan Heng, still adjusting to the bizarre gear, hesitated. "I feel like… we should take these off?"
