Silver Wolf was excited about the upcoming PvP with Pei Guang, but she knew she had to prepare. She was certain that Pei Guang would also have something surprising in store for her.
Five days was more than enough time for her to get two fun games ready.
While Silver Wolf was busy with her preparations, Pei Guang sat in Herta's office, also deep in thought, planning what to do next.
At this moment, he wasn't concerned about winning or losing. He just wanted to have fun. And what kind of game would bring him the most joy? Of course, one where the other side suffers a bit.
March 7th, standing beside Pei Guang, shivered at the sight of his mischievous grin. "Ah Guang! What are you plotting now? You look like you're up to no good."
Pei Guang smiled and said, "Just thinking about what fun games to come up with. Don't worry! I guarantee you'll all have a blast. But before that, let's head back to Belobog for a break, and then I'll start preparing!"
Stelle chimed in, "Let's go, let's go!"
The three of them, along with the six Herta puppets, temporarily left Herta's Space Station. As for the galaxy-wide betting? Pei Guang didn't care at all! To him, it was just another big event like any other. He had participated in similar betting events before, and as for the outcome… well, he had never won any bet, no matter what he wagered.
For most players, this was a chance to strike it rich. But for Pei Guang, the event held no appeal. He was far more interested in planning what games to play five days later.
Back in Belobog, the trio was ready to rest for the night.
However, as they teleported back to their hotel room, strange noises echoed through the hallway of the hotel.
"No! Stop!"
"Heh heh heh…"
"Hahahaha!"
"Hyah!"
"This… is very precious."
In the dark hallway of Goethe Hotel, an eerie voice could be heard coming from one of the rooms, making Pei Guang and his group tense up as they prepared to sleep.
Recalling their first day at the hotel, Stelle quickly said, "Not good! The hotel demon is back. That voice... it's Dan Heng!"
Pei Guang responded, "A demon dared to attack Dan Heng while we were away? Oh no! My poor Dan Heng, our hidden backup powerhouse has been ambushed."
At that moment, the six Herta puppets Pei Guang had brought with him all pulled out hammers. Herta Puppet No. 1 spoke up: "Trailblazer, do you need us to fight?"
Pei Guang patted Herta Puppet No. 1 on the head, "No need~ You all just rest. We've got experience dealing with this kind of enemy."
March 7th readied her bow, "Exactly! We're pros when it comes to handling ghosts and demons. We've beaten plenty before."
Stelle joined in, "Yep!"
At that moment, Pei Guang, Stelle and March 7th raised their weapons, holding them together triumphantly. The Herta puppets silently recorded the scene. As Pei Guang's dedicated puppets, their every action and purpose revolved around him.
They learned, they recorded, and they hoped that one day they could be of use.
Since Pei Guang had ordered them to rest, the puppets entered standby mode, waiting to continue their antics once Pei Guang and the others woke up.
As soon as they opened the door, the dark hallway stretched out like an abyss, discouraging anyone from going further. From within the abyss, strange murmurs caused the guests in other rooms to tremble and hide. The hotel's demon had appeared once again!
To face a demon, one must have legendary heroes to defeat it. Our hero, Pei Guang, wielded his wooden sword and stepped into the dark hallway. The faint glimmers from outside the windows provided no comfort, only heightening the primal fear in the air.
The open windows let in a chilling wind, which filled the hallway with an eerie sense of mockery and menace, causing the three adventurers to feel the abyss's threat.
Look at that! The combination of cold and darkness is so powerful—fear is its source of strength!
But Pei Guang never knew fear.
The dark hallway, the bone-chilling wind and the incomprehensible whispers.
The hero and his team of brave adventurers pressed on, resisting the evil's corruption as they neared the source.
Oh! Despite the sinister murmurs, they boldly pushed open the door, ready to face the most terrifying enemy lurking in the darkness.
Draw your sword! This sword will cut through the darkness and bring warmth to those lost within it.
Swing your bat! The blue bat will glow like a firefly in the night.
Fire your arrows! The shining ice arrows will pierce through the darkness and bring forth light.
At that very moment, the hallway lights flickered on. The hotel owner casually closed the open window and glanced at the three standing at Dan Heng's door. "Excuse me, what are you three doing?"
Oh! With the help of a passerby, the Trailblazer had brought light to the hallway and driven away the cold. No matter how the journey unfolded, the result was already achieved!
March 7th quickly stepped in to explain things to the hotel owner, knowing that if Pei Guang or Stelle tried to explain, things would only get weirder.
The owner, understanding what they were up to, also recognized Pei Guang as Dan Heng's companion, so he handed Pei Guang a spare key.
The darkness was defeated, and warmth returned to the hotel. Pei Guang now had the secret key to his companion's room, and the fact that he had acquired it without solving any puzzles made him smile with excitement.
As a player, what could be more satisfying than getting a key without doing anything?
Stelle, however, wasn't happy. She had been ready to break down the door to rescue Dan Heng, but the hotel owner's timely appearance had shattered her heroic fantasy. Saving Dan Heng would have earned her his admiration, but now that opportunity was gone. She couldn't be the hero in the night, nor bask in Dan Heng's grateful gaze.
As the door to Dan Heng's room opened, Pei Guang, Stelle, and March 7th were all stunned.
Was this still the cold, stoic "Moon Drinker" they knew? Right now, Dan Heng's face wore a strange mix of cruelty, pity, and disdain, with a twisted smile. He was muttering something to himself, sounding almost happy.
The eerie scene made all three of them gasp in shock. What was going on? Had some villain possessed Dan Heng?
Pei Guang shouted, "Dan Heng! Dan Heng! Wake up, wake up!"
The priority now was to wake Dan Heng up. Though they had never shared a room with him, his usual calm and reliable demeanor had left a strong impression on them. This couldn't be the real Dan Heng! He must be under some kind of control.
Stelle, already wielding her bat, declared, "Let me knock the demon out of him!"
But just as Stelle raised her bat, Dan Heng groggily opened his eyes. Seeing him stir, Stelle realized this wasn't good. She dashed out of the room in a flash, with March 7th instinctively following her into the hallway.
Still a bit confused, Dan Heng rubbed his eyes and saw Pei Guang standing in his room, staring at him thoughtfully.
As for what Dan Heng had experienced, we need to go back to his time asleep.
