Chapter 49 - Chapter 48: Look! This is the Black Egg Boss

With some reliable help, Pei Guang's sorting process went by quickly. He kept three food boxes, one beverage box, and one clothing box; the rest, he planned to give it away.

Since his containers were limited, with only ten trash bins in total—one kept for memories by Stelle, four for various materials and tools, and the remaining five for basic supplies—he was just able to fit everything.

With the task items removed from his backpack, Pei Guang's storage space suddenly had a lot more room. With over eighty empty slots, he felt confident that exploring new areas would be a breeze.

Looking at the remaining food, drinks, and various items, Pei Guang turned to Natasha and Oleg. "We don't need these anymore. If you want them, take them: if not, I'll throw them away."

These supplies weren't much, but the problem was that most of them were high-sugar items. There were also many medical supplies: various anti-inflammatory drugs, alcohol, iodine, and some medical tools Pei Guang didn't recognize, all gathered during his exploration of the Space Station. This time, he decided they weren't useful and planned to give them away or discard them.

These were all items Natasha desperately needed, often having to rely on Sampo to bring some up. She hadn't expected Pei Guang to have so much, and to even consider them as 'unwanted.'

As Natasha organized the supplies, the bored Pei Guang took out some paper and started drawing on the ground.

March 7th came over curiously and asked, "Aren't we heading out now?"

Pei Guang: "Where would we go? We've already found our guide NPC, so we'll just follow her."

Stelle immediately thought back to something Pei Guang had mentioned earlier. "So this is what you meant when you said an NPC would show up to guide us after switching maps? I see. So does that mean that Gepard that we met in the city was supposed to be our guide NPC?"

Pei Guang: "No way. Based on my experience, the guide is always a hidden big shot, not someone who looks so righteous and normal. But it's possible there isn't one. Maybe the game's mixing things up a bit with some anti-routine elements?"

March 7th was intrigued. "There's that much to it?"

Pei Guang: "Of course! It's not always a sure thing, but with my years of gaming experience, this method works about 70-80% of the time. But you can't be too rigid—you've got to be adaptable! Ah! Done!"

As they talked, Pei Guang finished his drawing. Since he didn't have colored pencils, he had to stick to simple lines. But with his description, everyone could immediately imagine what the complete version would look like.

The drawing depicted an egg, with a bright, smiling face on top. The smile had two prominent front teeth in the middle, and the eyes were crescent-shaped, matching the crescent-shaped eyebrows, giving the picture a humorous feel.

"Look! This is the figure I was talking about: The body is purple with a hint of white, kind of like a purple Stellar Jade, with little stars twinkling on it. It looks pretty interesting, right? It's basically a preserved egg. Ahem! Preserved eggs are a kind of food from my hometown—you can think of it as a blackened egg."

Though Pei Guang's drawing skills weren't top-notch, drawing the Black Egg Boss wasn't too difficult. Sure enough, March 7th, Stelle, and Dan Heng all looked at Pei Guang's drawing.

It was a pretty basic line drawing, but you could tell it was an egg, and the smile was unmistakable. The simple lines combined with the mischievous grin made everyone smile, especially with that cheeky expression that seemed to say "Aren't I clever?"

March 7th: "Pfft! It actually… looks kind of fun."

Stelle nodded. "Yes, does this thing really exist in this world?"

Pei Guang: "Who knows? Maybe in the game's lore, some god really does look like this?"

March 7th: "But what you drew is way too abstract compared to how you described it."

Pei Guang took a closer look at his drawing. "It's not that bad, right? The universe is vast: who knows if something out there really does look this abstract? No big deal. If we ever come across it, we'll take a photo."

At this point, March 7th was already holding up her camera. "Hehe~ We're not doing anything else right now, so how about we take a group photo?"

Pei Guang agreed, "Sure!"

And so, the four of them took a group photo on the spot. March 7th looked through the various photos in her camera, a happy smile spreading across her face. There were shots of Pei Guang and Stelle digging through trash bins, a snapshot of them diving into a cabinet, and even one of them inside a dumpster together. Among the funny scenes, there were also many warm photos and group shots. Looking at these, she couldn't help but beam with joy.

While they were having fun, Natasha finished sorting the supplies and asked Oleg to gather people to transport them back. She then approached Pei Guang and his group, saying, "Hello, I'm Natasha, from the Underworld of Belobog..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Pei Guang instantly pulled a letter from his backpack upon hearing the keyword. "So, you're Natasha?"

"Huh? Yes... I'm Natasha. Is there something I can help you with?"

Natasha suddenly had a bad feeling. After all, the way Pei Guang and his group arrived was quite unusual. Just look at Sampo—he had to sneak in, but these people descended openly on a train, without even facing a fight. It was clear enough that something was off.

Even if she couldn't figure out the exact details, she could tell that Pei Guang and his group had gone through something out of the ordinary.

Pei Guang handed the letter to Natasha, and at the same time, took out five large medical kits from his backpack. "If you're Natasha, these are from your family. Now that I've completed the task, please give me my reward."

"Huh? Reward... task? Wait, what is this...!"

Natasha opened the envelope and pulled out the letter inside. Under the platform's light, she read through its contents. As she read, her eyes started to well up with tears. She took a few deep breaths before carefully putting the letter away.

She could clearly distinguish the importance of what was written: the letter mentioned her adoptive parents' situation, the health of the old butler, and her brother...

These things were very important to her. Reading the final part of the letter, where it described Pei Guang and his group, she realized that what they had to do was even more crucial than she had imagined.

Because at the end of the letter, it said: "If this letter reaches you, make sure to thank them properly. They took great risks to help us and deliver our thoughts to you."

The letter didn't mention the supplies: to the elderly man, those were secondary. What was important was that Natasha received the letter.

Gripping the letter, Natasha tightened her fist. Now was not the time for sorrow. She carefully stored the letter away. "Sir, thank you for delivering these important items to me. Please, follow me to my clinic."

For Natasha, today was a day worth celebrating. Actually, for anyone in the universe who studies the Aeons, today was also a day worth celebrating because someone had observed the true appearance of the Aeon of Nihility. However, upon seeing this appearance, the observer was left in doubt. He wasn't sure if there was a problem with his equipment or if the Aeon really looked like that.

Looking at the laughing, dark purple egg, the observer couldn't help but feel that something was off with his observations.
