"Hup," Finn jamp back, dodging the claw strikes from several wolves, their fangs and claws trying to strike him down.
He swings his sword in a wide arc, but the wolves continue advancing instead of backing down.
Use your other skills, a voice rang in his mind.
Voice transmission? Finn looked back only to see Victor wasn't there.
"Where did he g—" Finn flips back barely dodging another strike, he must have noticed it too.
But since he told me to use other skills, I'll gladly take up that offer.
He sheaths his sword and lunges forward, opening his palm, "By the frost: Emit," a small shard of ice strikes one of the wolves on its head. It looked around dazed at the sudden strike of the cold, as Finn took himself up in the air, landing a drop kick to its head.
Finn pulls out his gun and fires it straight into its skull. He gets off heading towards one of the other wolves, but before he could reach the wolf a flurry of gusts strikes him out of nowhere sending his flying, crashing into a tree.
"What the fuck!" Finn winced in pain trying to stand up. He notices the white furred wolf stepping in, the beast staring at him with its silver eyes.
"This thing," Finn stands up dusting off the dirt, but notices a small tear on his right hand. "By the frost," he applies pressure around the wound, a small layer of frost covering it.
Finn picks up his gun and walks towards the wolves. I only have three shots left for the gun, if I force it anymore it'll break, I'll have to make it count, he drops it back into his holster on his hips.
He notices the white furred wolf opening its maw, a gust of wind gathering around its jaw, but this time the gust turns into a ball of fire as it shoots it.
Pyro!? As I suspected, these are the mutants. Finn's sword glimmers blue as he pulls it out of its sheath and cuts the ball of flame apart. The ball of flame splits in two crashing into a nearby tree.
"Time to die," Finn laughs as the three wolves around the white one run towards him. Finn readies himself as the first wild pounced forward, but with concentration and memories of battles from his previous life, side steps the strike and plunges the sword deep into the wolves stomach.
The wolf growls pulling back as the other two rushes forward. One of the wolf swings his claw, landing a strike on Finn's wrist, cutting it.
"Ouch, that hurts," Finn groans as punches the wolf, and another fireball heads his way. He gathers cold mana around his forearm bringing it up to block the strike.
BOOM
The fireball strikes his hand, burning off his suit around the arm, but before he could recover, the other wolf strikes his, sending him flying yet again
Finn gets up, holding up his left hand. A few threads barely visible to the naked eyes shines under the slight sunlight. The threads glow blue, leading to the katana on the wolf's stomach.
GROWL
The wolf howls in pain as frost gathers around the area where the sword was in. The canine slumps to the floor, motionless.
"One down, three to go," Finn's eyes burn with determination. It's time I try something from my past life.
"Under the sun I grow, under the moon, I am everywhere," his shadow beneath his feet grew darker as he chanted the mantra.
"Shadow step X Blizzard step," Finn zooms past the wolves, grabbing his sword and pulling it out of the limp corpse.
The creatures growl surprised at the sudden speed, but stops feeling some kind of restraints around their necks.
"You guys can go fuck yourself," pulls his left hand. Blood drops from their neck, he gestures the hand pull. The thin blue strings coiled around one of it's necks dug in deep, before...
SLICK
The head falls to the floor, rolling before the corpse slouched down, a pool of blood forming.
COUGH
Finn bends down, vomiting a puddle of blood, "Shit, it must be because I used the footwork together, it worked but the strain is too much." He gets back up wiping he blood off.
The other wolf retreats behind the wolf with the white fur, growling lightly. Almost instantly, the white wolf turns back, biting into the scared wolf's neck.
A faint white glow of energy flowed up from the wolf on the predator's fangs, the wolf's eyes glowing deep blue while the other canine winced and moved around, as it finally died.
"Bad puppy," Finn looked at the sight in disgust, "these mutant bastards are stealing vital energy from their own kind, I'll end you here for your pack."
The wolf slides its tongue over its mouth, licking up the blood as it walks towards him with murderous intent.
I can feel my first star forming, maybe I'll.be able to breakthrough after sometime, Finn grabs into his sword.
The wolf opening its maw, charging up for one of the long distance fireball. Should I strike it before it can fire? No I can't scale the distance, even if I did, I'll be down before I can strike him.
The ball launches forward, the fireball much larger than the earlier ones, heading straight for him. Finn pulls out his gun, the gun shimmering from a blue glow, as he pulled the trigger.
The bullet shoots through the fireball, but the scattered fireball almost crashes into Finn. He instantly pulls out his sword coated in a blue glow, cancelling the flame.
Two more shots, Finn prepares his pistol, readying himself for another. He notices his first bullet had scratched the monster, blood trickling down it's missing left ear.
Finn leaps at the wolf, but the wolf moves back, avoiding a head in confrontation. He rushes forward trying to find an opening, but the beast continues pulling back.
Finn pulls out his pistol and fire a shot, but the shot missed it's head, striking it's chest, but the canine kept jumping backwards despite the injury, while growling in a low pitch.
Well I'll be damned, down to my last shot Finn looked down at the gun, his breath coming out ragged, at the multiple injuries that occurred him over the course of the fight. Burned skin, torn flesh, cuts and bruises, his entire body hurting from crashing into the tree earlier.
"You won't be killing me," Finn pointed his gun at the wolf, "after all I haven't met my grandfather yet.
I understand why Professor Victor taught me this breathing, if I can use it perfectly, I can increase the effectiveness of my shots, his gun yet again shimmered blue.
The wolf opened its maw, but instead of wind gathering around it and sparks flaring to form a fireball, it vomited blood because of the earlier shot to it's chest.
"You didn't think I shot your chest because I missed it, did you?" Finn manically looked at it before pulling the trigger, a straight line of light shooting through its skull, killing it.
"Hah," Finn falls to the floor in exhaustion, "where is my Professor?"
...
"Who are you?" Victor held his dagger up, looking at the woman in strange clothing in front of him.
It was still the forest, surrounded by a large number of trees, small and big. Victor had sensed her presence earlier, hence leaving Finn with a transmission.
"Who, you ask?" the woman spoke alluringly, her voice smooth like silk, yet filled with impure intent, "I'm just a passerby, if anything i should be the one asking who you are."
"Enough!" Victor commanded, his voice booming through the dense forest, "you must not be anyone simple, if you could get in past the barrier and even mutate the beasts."
"What are you talking about?" the woman pulled down the red hood covering her face revealing a very beautiful woman, no older than twenty. Her sharp red eyes look straight at Victor.
White hair, red eyes and that black dress, Victor scanned the woman, her black suit sticking to her frame accentuating her curves, but Victor noticed the appearance similar to someone he had known off.
"Chloe Ting, isn't that you?" he replies with a smile. "You must be prepared to die if you came in here with just a few pups."
"Oh, those doggies," she laughs, her voice echoing, "was it a wise choice to leave the pretty boy with them?"
"Pretty boy isn't weak, and you should be worried about yourself," Victor disappears.
"Oh, hide and seek, I love playing hide and seek with kids, unfortunately, you're too old to be playing," she connects her fingertips, leaving a gap between her palms as she chanted, "Fire, burn and reveal, I wish to clear the path of obstruction ahead of me: Firestorm."
An array of source code appears beneath feet, spreading out for a few feet, before a sea of flame twisted and rotated around her engulfing the entire area in flames.
"Let's take this up a notch shall we?" she changes her handsign to clasped palms, the flames around her turning deep red. "Oh, gust, slice and graze all I gaze: Max Whirlwind."
The wind fused with the red flame, multiple sharp blades of fire cutting through the trees before a large explosion devestated the entire area within a hundred meters. Shredded trees laid on the ground burning up.
"Are you done?" Victor stood behind her, holding a bow and a drawn arrow to her head.
"Oh dear, it seems I'm still far too weak to face a legend," she raises her hand, admitting defeat.
"What were you trying to do here?" Victor pulled on the bow pulsating with energy.
"Oh, nothing, just checking up on Nexarion."
"Speak, if you do not want a hole in your head," Victor intimidated the lady.
The woman just laughed, "Oh, well, if you'd like to know, the dear principal of Nexarion stole something my Boss had his eyes on."
"Stole? You can tell me more at the prison," Victor let's go of the arrow, but the arrows shoots through her, her body turning into flame.
"Goodbye," her laughter shrilled through.
"Tsk, what the hell?" Victor looks around at the mess.
