Adrian leaned back on his bed, cradling the phone in his hand, smiling as he heard his friend's voice after so long.
"Adrian!" his friend exclaimed from the other end. "It's been ages! How've you been?"
Adrian chuckled softly. "I know, I know! I've been… well, it's been a journey. How about you? Last I heard, you got a job?"
"Yeah, it's been good! I'm working part-time while studying. Busy but fulfilling," his friend replied. "And you? I feel like I missed out on so much. So... tell me everything. How's life?"
Adrian hesitated, glancing at the baby monitor on his nightstand. "A lot has changed. I'm... married now."
The line went silent for a beat, and then his friend gasped, "What? Married? Adrian, you didn't even tell me you were seeing someone!"
Adrian laughed. "It happened fast. He was... well, it's a long story. But yes, I'm married. And, uh… there's more."
"There's more? What, did you buy a house too?" his friend teased.
