Luri's eyes shot open as the faint creak of her window echoed through her quiet bedroom. Her instincts kicked in immediately—this was not the first time someone had tried sneaking into her room. She swiftly reached under her pillow and grabbed the knife she kept for emergencies. Without hesitation, she threw it toward the window with pinpoint accuracy.
"Whoa!" Isaac barely managed to duck, the blade whizzing just above his head and embedding itself into the window frame.
Luri sat up on her bed, glaring daggers at Isaac. "What the hell do you think you're doing, Isaac?!" she growled, her voice sharp enough to cut through the silence of the night.
Isaac peeked back over the windowsill, flashing a smug grin. "Just thought I'd drop by. Window's quicker than the door, isn't it?" he teased as he swung a leg over the ledge, hopping down into her room.
