Staring at my phone screen as the call went through, I patiently waited with my heart racing.
It's a good thing I could easily remember anything.
To my greatest joy, the call was answered.
"Hello?"
I closed my eyes as I heard her voice after a long time.
When she had left me after dropping the resignation letter, I called her endlessly till she blocked my line.
Thankfully, this was a different line.
"Is anyone there?" she asked.
I felt overjoyed but I couldn't say a word for fear that she might inform Clifford.
"Hello? Is someone on the line?"
Gosh! I missed her like crazy and I wanted to talk to her so badly.
"Maybe you dialed the wrong number," saying that, she ended the call.
After some seconds, I dialed her line again and she answered.
"Yes? Who's speaking?"
I was tempted to say something but I held back.
