"He's Clifford right?"
I slowly turned my head from the window to face Damion and saw him staring back at me intently.
We were currently on our way to see the place the runway show would be held at.
The meeting between Damion and Clifford strangely went well but something in me told me Damion felt uncomfortable.
Now, we were seated in his car and the silence had stretched between us until he finally broke it by asking that question I was expecting.
"Yes, that's his name."
"You know what I'm talking about, Arleen." He sounded serious.
"Yes. It's him."
"Were you aware of his true identity all along?"
"Not at all." Which was true. I didn't.
"Why did he act as a delivery guy when he's this wealthy?"
His next question was expected and luckily for me, I had an answer to that.
"He said he wanted to have a deeper connection with his customers, that's why."
"When did you find out his true identity?" Damion probed for more answers.
"When I contacted his assistant I got suspicious. But I found out his identity the night I told you I went on a date." I tactfully lied. But actually, Damion did look up to Clifford like a role model even when he never knew how he looked back then. He had believed the owner of Shares Enterprise & Holdings was an old man.
"Were you planning to surprise me all along?" He looked touched by what I did and I felt happy but also confused.
This meant he truly didn't know who Clifford really was. Well, how could he?
"All this while I thought you and Clifford were into each other back when I thought he was your delivery guy. Who would've thought he's the CEO of Shares Enterprise and Holdings." He looked impressed.
"Sorry I made you think that way." I apologized because Clifford was actually into me.
"But how do you know what the delivery guy looked like?" I couldn't help but ask.
"I was curious and felt threatened he would have you first before I even confessed, so I sent someone to take shots of him." He revealed and I was left speechless because it turned out I was really caught up in their mess. Both of them had eyes on me!
"Thank you for meeting with him. I really am fortunate to have you."
Now I felt guilty at his sweet words. It was like something pricked my heart.
And to make me feel even worse, he held my hand in his and brought it to his lips where he planted a loving kiss on it.
"Once we get back to California, let's go out on a date."

{D-Day~ RUNWAY SHOW}
It was a very big white hall with lights everywhere which further brightened the place and made it look magnificent.
There was a long mirror platform in the middle where the models would walk on. It was insanely beautiful. On either sides were chairs which were already occupied by important people and guests.
There were photographers everywhere and the place was filled. Not a seat was left vacant.
Seated beside me was Damion who looked dashing in his dope outfit. It was simple yet eye catching.
He wore a satin black shirt with the first two buttons undone and the hands neatly folded to his elbow on oxblood pants with plain white trainers.
I simply wore a peach V neck sleeveless high low summer chiffon midi formal dress on diamond strappy heels.
As I looked around, my eyes subconsciously locked onto Clifford who was watching me like a hawk. He was seated right across from us with the platform in-between us and beside him sat Beverley in her killer dress. She was like a goddess.
Earlier when we came across each other, we exchanged greetings and went our separate ways.
"It's hard for me to look elsewhere when you're dressed like this." Damion whispered into my ear and my body shuddered at the way he spoke. It sounded seductive.
I faced him and it caused our faces to be very close to each other, causing me to gasp at the proximity.
"Damion?" I breathlessly called his name.
"Hm?" His lips curved into a one sided smile as he hummed in response.
"We are in public."
"I know." Saying that, he pushed a strand of hair which was blocking my view before leaning back.
"Are you nervous?"
He rested his back against the chair and crossed his leg while placing his arm behind my chair as if to show ownership.
"Not at all."
"Don't you like the idea of us going public? This is a good place to spread rumors." He casually said like it was nothing.
"Do you want us to go public?"
I was taken aback by his proposal so I asked him the question instead of answering.
"Yes." He answered swiftly like he had been waiting for this moment.
"But we just started dating."
"I know." He didn't look bothered.
"Why do you want us to go public?" I couldn't help but ask.
At my question, he smiled as if he was waiting for it.
"I want to imprint my name all over you so people know their limit." He gave his reason and I found it sweet and sexy at the same time.
He was taking our relationship more seriously than I had imagined and it made me begin to wonder why?
With the rate at which he was going, I wouldn't be surprised if he asked me to marry him one day. But I didn't want to rush things.
When I noticed him keenly looking in Clifford's direction, it was then I understood the hidden message behind his words.
"What do you think, Arleen?" He faced me and patiently waited for my reply.
"I think it's a bit too early for that." I politely refused.
"What if I ask you to marry me?" He asked another tricky question.
But this time, I could not answer because I had absolutely nothing to say.
