Aurora stood outside the office door, taking a deep breath.
Her heart was racing, but she quickly shook off the nervousness, reminding herself of her purpose.
She adjusted her blazer, straightened her posture, and knocked on the door.
"Come in," Lucas's voice echoed from within.
The firm tone didn't help calm her nerves, but she pushed them aside and entered the office, determined to keep her composure.
Lucas was seated behind his desk, looking up as she stepped in.
His eyes briefly flickered with something—something unreadable—but he quickly masked it with a neutral expression.
Aurora, keeping her own emotions in check, greeted him.
"Mr. Lucas," she began, her voice even. "Gabriel told me to come to your office."
Inwardly, Lucas felt a small growl rise in his mind.
He didn't like her calling him Mr. Lucas.
She didn't really need to, not after everything.
