I saw grey eyes, not blue like seas or green like trees.
They looked like a storm that held every weight of the clouds.
'Stay away from him.' A voice whispered to me. It was not too loud but I felt the words leave a dent in my heart.
Then I saw a smile beneath the grey eyes. No, it was more like a grin - bold and confident - it drew me in.
I wanted to know why it looked so amused and confident.
'Don't.' the voice said once more. This time it sounded more desperate.
'Don't fall for it again.'
Fall for what?
'Never love him again.' the voice said firmly as the image of grey eyes and a smile slowly faded away.
Hey, I know that voice.
It was mine.

[1st POV]
My eyes snapped open and I stared at the ceiling of my room. I blinked once, and then twice as my mind regained clarity.
"That..was a dream." I whispered and my hand reached for my chest. I felt the rapid beating of my heart which prompted me to take a deep breath. My heartbeat slowed down like a ball bouncing in my chest.
But as my heart calmed down, I felt a single tear fall from my eyes.
I was not known to be the emotional type but what the hell was wrong with me today? I tried to recall my dream but I couldn't remember anything except the voice and the picture of a smile and grey eyes.
It was the kind of dream you forget the moment you wake up.
I always hated those kinds of dreams.
"Must've been quite a story." I chuckled and I rose up from bed. I stretched my arm which was followed by a long yawn as I greeted the morning sunlight.
What a beautiful morning. Should I jump off my bed, slam open the window and sing like a Disney princess? I thought to myself with an amused smile.
But my jolly mood crashed when my eyes met the clock.
"Shit." Not so Disney princess like but I couldn't care less. "I'm late!!"
I tried to crawl off the bed quickly but my feet got tangled with the sheet, causing me to stumble on the floor. I winced but other than the loud sound and embarrassment, I was not injured.
"Be careful Vivian." I heard my mother scream from downstairs. The walls made it so that her voice was muffled.
"Mom!! Why didn't you wake me up!!" I yelled back and hit the floor before quickly getting up. I made a beeline to my bathroom to freshen up.
I knew I shouldn't have showered right before bed. I usually sleep too well when I do so, which was not the best thing for a high schooler like me.
Especially not in the middle of the week.
I quickly finished my business in the bathroom and rushed back to my room. I wore the uniform neatly hung on the door of my closet before I went in front of the mirror to fix my hair.
A few strokes of the comb smoothed out the bed hair and tying my hair in a ponytail did the job. I normally preferred my loose hair but today was not the day for preference.
After I was done, I looked at the clock again to see how much time it took to get ready.
"Ten minutes." that was fine. I took my schoolbag from beside the study table and immediately headed downstairs.
The smell of pancakes and honey hit my nose and I followed the scent to the kitchen. There, I saw my father tapping on his phone with a cup of coffee in his hand and my mother who was preparing breakfast.
"Oh, good morning Vivian." my father said with a smile but his eyes were still stuck on his phone.
"Good morning sweetie. Wait there, yours will be ready soon." Mom said while scoping out pancakes on a plate.
I went to the dining table and took my seat beside my little brother who, by the way, I completely missed until I got close.
"Mhorning shis." he said while stuffing his face with food.
"Please don't talk to me while you eat."
"Here you go sweetie." said my mother as she slides a plate of my breakfast. I poured myself some juice and I quickly ate my food with the decency of Shrek.
"Why the hurry Vivian, you still have half an hour left?" my father said while putting down his phone. He smiled a fatherly smile.
Half an hour may not be considered late for most people but not for me. I have a standard and reputation to uphold. Half an hour before school started, I should already be sitting in my seat and preparing for the classes by reading ahead.
It was the least I could do to fulfil my goal of getting into my first choice college and graduating as the best student.
"You know why dad." I said and finished my juice to wash down the food down my throat.
"I'm done. Bye!!"
I ran out of the kitchen as my parents wished me to stay safe. I sling my school bag onto my back and then I left the house.
The sun was shining brightly and the blue sky promised good weather. Today would be a great day, I thought to myself.
I walked to the driveway and went inside the garage where my trusty scooter was waiting for me. I got it recently, on my 18th birthday. My family was by no means wealthy but my parents knew I needed it and they made it happen.
A fond smile stretched my lips at the thought before I hopped onto the scooter and off I went. It was still quite early in the morning so there was barely any traffic, allowing me for an easy and swift ride.
Every other day, I would have absolutely no trouble reaching school in less than ten minutes but today was different.
"Hey! Stop, stop!!" I heard a deep voice yell at the side of the road. I glanced at the owner of the voice and I saw a man.
I had no time to study more of his features as he ran straight to the middle of the road. My eyes widen when I saw him coming right in front of my scooter.
I used all of the riding skills I had accumulated and pulled the brakes and turned the scooter to the other side. The scooter swerved and nearly slipped out of my control but I would avoid hitting the man.
At least that's what I though.
But the man seemed to have a death wish as he jumped in front of my scooter. Inevitably, I hit the madman and he fell to the ground while I came to an abrupt stop.
"Are you crazy!!" that was the first thing that came out of my mouth after the shock disappeared but what came out of his mouth was laughter.
Genuinely amused laughter.
"This is real, I found you." he said. His eyes narrowed in an eye-smile and his lips stretched into a confident grin.
Grey orbs pulled my yellow eyes into a staring contest.
'Wait, I know those eyes..' I thought to myself.
"I was not sure if I should approach you since we met in college but I couldn't help myself. I missed you." he said as if the fact that he was just hit and lying in the middle of the road was less important.
Had I hit him too hard?
Did he escape from an Asylum?
"Won't you say anything back to me, Vivian?" he asked with a boyish smile.
"Wait, how did you know my name?"
He got up from the road and dusted himself, his smile never faded while he was doing so.
"How would someone ever forget the name of thier love?" he said while standing in front of me.
My lungs stopped working as my breath ceased. I carefully observed him up and down.
He wore a white shirt that cascaded over his muscular body to reveal his rather attractive shape. He had a defined profile and a sharp nose ran in the middle of hazy grey eyes. He was rather a handsome man but most importantly.
He was fine.
"Sorry, but I have no time for this. " I said before I ran off with my scooter. I was afraid he would chase after me again but to my relief, he didn't.
A madman.
That was my first impression of him.
