Vince only smiled before letting himself fall onto his back, his body collapsing to the ground with a thud.
Nyx stared at him in disbelief. He hadn't expected Vince to pull such a dangerous move just to distract him.
But to Vince, it was worth it. That second, that brief moment of distraction, gave him an opportunity to hit Nyx.
"It's just a graze, but I managed to hit you. I won," he said breathlessly.
His heartbeat was fast, his breathing ragged, and yet he was smiling. His eyes were closed because he suddenly felt tired and sleepy.
The wound on his chest definitely hurt, and when he said it hurt, it hurt big time.
Blood kept gushing out, soaking his clothes. The blood was warm, and somehow, it was comforting to Vince. After being soaked in icy water earlier, being drenched in warm blood was far more comfortable than the freezing temperature of Ice Lotus River.
