It took a week before Shitsuya's classmates learned all twelve hand signs and how to perform them.
Their dreadful progression in jutsu aside. When it came to physical training Shitsuya found himself at almost the bottom of the class.
This slightly hurt his pride as he was highly athletic in his previous life having started gymnastics training at a young age and becoming exceptional at it after a few decades.
While sitting Infront of a still pond that reflected the clear blue sky.
Shitsuya pondered his future direction for the first time in this world.
'Considering all major players after Madara had some way of absorbing chakra, focussing on ninjutsu like fire ball and such would come back to bite me if i ever face anybody like that.'
'Almost every powerful person is immune to genjutsu by the later parts of the story so it seems like focusing on taijutsu and ninjutsu that don't directly weaponize chakra is the way to go.'
'Luckily I possess a Sharingan so learning Taijutsu won't be an issue and considering the ocular enhancement of the Sharingan with a few decades of training I should theoretically gain at least some combat competence.'
With his plan set Shitsuya spent the next few months in relative monotony.
Going to school and spending the rest his time training.
His mother, in support of her son took on the role of his teacher and taught him Ninjutsu, Taijutsu and Genjutsu while also helping him polish his skills in throwing shuriken and chakra control.
It sounded grand but other than Ninjutsu training which he cheated in by using the Sharingan he only made very little progress in everything else.
He had copied the basics of taijutsu by spying on some kids but as he couldn't use his Sharingan while his mother was teaching him he struggled to make much progress beyond the basic stances, guards and jabs.
His mother who was only a genin before retirement to become a housewife even though she didn't specialise in taijutsu still could beat him with ease.
Although she was lavish in her praise of his skill she could easily knock him down with a gentle touch, knocking him off balance.
Genjutsu was a nightmare to learn as the precision in chakra control needed to caste a genjutsu without the target's notice was surgical.
Even so his mother praised him lavishly saying that he was apparently innately talented as the illusions he crafted were apparently well made paying attention to small details although the illusions he could caste were only small scale like changing text on a paper or shifting the colour of objects.
Even so, Shitsuya felt that genjutsu had huge potential that was untapped in the original work.
In a heated battle, merely hiding a thrown kunai with genjutsu could easily decide the battle.
Speaking of kunai, his throwing ability sucked. Not only was he lacking in strength to make the kunai actually effective.
His technique also sucked with his accuracy being very low.
If he used his Sharingan to copy someone adept at it he would most likely become very good at it, but anyone worth copying was could easily detect him.
Most people children also sucked at throwing kunai so he couldn't copy them either.
Even his mother sucked at throwing kunai although she was better than him her accuracy wasn't pinpoint.
In other news Shitsuya's chakra control training did not go well.
Probably due to repeatedly using the Sharingan to knock him out his chakra coils were all messed up causing chakra to flow in an uneven manner.
Flowing smoothly in some places then slowing down in others it took a month of not using his Sharingan for his chakra lines to clear up.
He practiced his chakra control using the basic leaf sticking exercise.
This allowed him to practice continuously while doing other things such as listening in class.
******
7 months passed and Shitsuya turned 6 years old.
After passing the final year exams which only of some shuriken throwing, preforming a single jutsu of choice and running 100 laps.
Shitsuya didn't show off, making sure to perform as average as possible.
Keeping a low profile was of paramount importance right now as the academy loved giving any semi competent students graduation exams and throwing them into the ongoing meat grinder of the second great ninja war.
Other than Shitsuya's passing onto the second year of the academy, the ninja world also developed in this last 7 months.
Konoha held a huge celebration as Orochimaru, Tsunade and Jiraya gained the title of Sannin boosting Konoha's moral.
Although he wasn't sure of the exact details from what he could tell Konoha seemed to be on the winning side of the war not having sustained any major loses in the war.
On the entrance ceremony Shitsuya spotted the future yellow flash who had just joined the academy.
'Looks like I'm older than Minato...'
'Should I kill him early to decrease the number of powerful people?'
'Maybe befriend him? He will gain the flying thunder god technique in the future, space techniques are my best bet to going back, if I'm his friend I can learn it from him if that's possible.'
'Still, being the childhood friend of the forth might place me in danger....'
'Doesn't matter, I'll just have to get strong enough not to get killed.'
On that note Shitsuya's strength even after training seriously hadn't actually increased by much.
Both his chakra reserves and physical strength increased on marginally.
When it came to jutsu, his mother refused to teach him more than the basic academy jutsu although he had acquired a few more through his extra curricular activities.
His shuriken throwing skills improved massively as he had taken the risk to spy on a chunin he saw practicing.
Shitsuya could now hit dead center of any unmoving target and could hit moving targets as well even if less accurately.
His chakra control skyrocketed and he could already walk on water with almost no chakra wastage.
This caused his genjutsu to increase as well as he could caste them without much risk of his target detecting them.
[A/N: Sorry about the kind of clickbait title and the boring chapter. More action soon.]
