The sun rose over the Hidden Leaf Village, casting a warm glow on the rooftops and streets below. Today was a special day for the Uchiha clan, their patriarch's oldest two children were going to the academy today. Today was the day they would show their might as the strongest clan in Konoha, through their talented kids.
Miyuki and Itachi walked side by side, their expressions of disappointment barely contained as they walked. Truly like twins, they were quite similar in their expressions. Miyuki was calm and composed, her dark eyes reflecting a wisdom beyond her years. Itachi as well showed great calmness and wisdom, but there was also a speck of curiosity reflecting deep in his eyes.
"Don't be too upset Miyuki, maybe we'll find some fun people." Itachi said, glancing at his sister.
"Of course! The kids who can barely even take one hit from me, and the teachers who I can beat in a fight! So interesting, so fun..." Miyuki replied, her voice filled with disappointment. "Maybe I should beat everyone up and become the queen of the academy? That may be interesting."
Itachi spoke jokingly. "That would certainly be interesting, your majesty." He bowed slightly towards Miyuki, "However, I must advise against it in case you get kicked out of the academy. What would father do if you got kicked out?"
Shuddering at the thought of their father's rage, Miyuki decided to not beat up the teachers, and limit herself to the students. "Just the students it is. They can't get mad at me for toughening up a batch of young ninja, right?"
"Hn" Itachi replied with a small smile.
As they approached the academy, they saw other children their age gathering in the courtyard. Some were nervous, while others were chatting excitedly. The twins made their way to the entrance, where they were greeted by their instructor, Daikoku Funeno.
"Welcome, everyone, to your first day at the ninja academy," Daikoku said, his voice warm and encouraging. "Today marks the beginning of your journey to becoming shinobi. You'll learn many skills here, but remember, the most important thing is to support and protect each other."
The students were then led into the classroom, where they took their seats. Itachi and Miyuki sat together, their eyes scanning the room. They noticed a few familiar faces, including Izumi Uchiha, a half-blood cousin of theirs.
"Hey, Itachi, what do you think of Izumi?" Miyuki asked while looking at the girl.
"Nothing special." Itachi replied simply, looking over.
"I heard she's already awakened her sharingan. She's only got one tomoe, but that's still good. At least, good when not compared to us who both have three tomoe." Miyuki spoke some more, trying to get Itachi to take an interest in the girl. 'Come on! This is your destined love, Itachi!'
Miyuki was about to continue bragging about Izumi when Daikoku entered the room and cut her off. "Ok class, usually there would be a speech from the hokage on the first day, but due to recent events, the hokage is too busy to attend. So, we're going to get right into the first lesson instead. You can all get to know each other in your own time."
The morning was filled with introductions on what future lessons would consist of. Daikoku explained the academy's curriculum, which included subjects like ninjutsu, taijutsu, and basic genjutsu. Additionally, he went on to explain that there would be separate teachers to teach subjects like mathematics, geography, history, and literature.
Later, during the lunch break, Itachi and Miyuki sat under a tree, enjoying their bento boxes. Miyuki continued trying to set up Itachi and Izumi, and she even went as far as to invite Izumi to sit and eat with them.
"Did you see how Daikoku-sensei demonstrated that transformation jutsu? It was amazing!" Izumi exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.
"It was impressive, but me and Itachi can do it better." Miyuki stated, taking a bite of her rice. "You should practice together with us after school Izumi."
"I don't think that's appropriate... I don't want to intrude in your training. Also, I'm not a full blooded Uchiha, I don't think the clan would like me hanging around you two." Izumi said reluctantly, an expression of injustice spread on her face.
"The clan doesn't care about how much of our blood you have. You've awakened the sharingan, and that's enough to make you a true Uchiha." Itachi spoke reassuringly.
"But my mom said-" Izumi began.
"We don't care what your mom said," Miyuki cut her off. "I'm the future leader of the clan and I say that it's fine!"
"Yo-you can't be the leader, there's never been a matriarch in the clan" Izumi refuted.
"So what? I'll be the first then. If anyone dares to say otherwise, I'll beat them into submission!" Miyuki stated determination alight in her eyes.
After lunch, the afternoon was dedicated to taijutsu training. The students were taken to the training grounds, where they practiced basic exercises and sparring techniques. Miyuki and Itachi's abilities quickly became apparent, as they effortlessly executed each move.
"You two, the katas are worthless to you. Go and run laps around the field instead." Daikoku took notice and sent them off. "Don't waste your time here. Put all your effort into sprinting to train your stamina and speed."
Miyuki and Itachi looked at each other, a shared look of relief showing on their faces. "At least the academy won't completely be wasting our time." Miyuki said as she jogged to the field.
"Hn, those exercises were a waste of time. Luckily Daikoku-sensei is smart enough to not hinder us too much." Itachi replied.
As the day came to an end, the students gathered once more in the classroom. Daikoku praised their efforts and reminded them of the importance of perseverance and teamwork.
"You've all done well today," he said, smiling at the class. "Remember, this is just the beginning. Keep working hard, and you'll achieve great things."
Itachi and Miyuki walked towards the Uchiha training grounds together, the afternoon sun casting long shadows on the path. "Today was a big waste of time. I'm going to send a shadow clone to school tomorrow and train instead." Miyuki spoke to Itachi as they walked.
"Not a bad idea. I'll do the same." Itachi replied after a moment of thought. "You won't be missing any classes since you gain the memories after, so it's very effective. Great idea Miyuki."
Suddenly stopping in her tracks, Miyuki looked back. "I forgot about Izumi! I'll go back and grab her for training, you go ahead." Miyuki said, her voice filled with excitement. 'How could I forget about my future sister-in-law?'
"She was tired after training at the academy" Itachi said, worry written on his face. "I'm glad you found a friend but take into account her physical condition before dragging her along."
"She can just watch our training; she doesn't need to participate! Just watching can also be beneficial especially if she opens the sharingan!" Miyuki yelled behind her as she ran off to fetch Izumi.
