Chapter 5 - Friendship

Soojin wrapped up her live stream and closed her laptop. She turned to Hana with a smile. "Hey, girl! Thanks for keeping me company during the live stream."

Hana, finishing up her ramyeon, nodded. "No problem, Soojin. But I have to say, I have no idea what you were talking about with all that Lumina stuff."

Soojin laughed. "Haha, yeah, I know you're not a fan. But anyway, enough about that. How was your day?"

Hana thought for a moment before responding. "It was okay, I guess. Except the part where you came hunting me with your Lumina concert thing. Ah right," She snapped. "I had a weird encounter with this guy, though."

Soojin's curiosity was piqued. "Oh? What happened?"

Hana leaned in, a mischievous glint in her eye. "So, I was returning from a delivery and this guy ran into me. Literally. He was wearing a ridiculous disguise, like a hat and a mask. And then he had the nerve to get annoyed with me!"

Soojin's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, what? That sounds like a scene from a drama!"

Hana nodded, chuckling. "I know, right? I couldn't believe it. And the weirdest part is, I think I saw him earlier today at the café."

Soojin's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "The cafe where you work?" She asked.

"No," Hana shook her head. "Today was my off day. Just another cafe I walked into after class."

"Ooh, that's so mysterious! Do you think he's stalking you or something?" Soo jin sounded more intrigued.

Hana laughed. "I don't think so, he was swarmed around people the first one. But he looked weird the second time. I mean, what are the chances of running into the same guy twice in one day?"

Soojin leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "Maybe he's trying to send you a message or something. Or maybe he's just really clumsy and keeps running into you."

Hana playfully rolled her eyes. "Yeah, maybe he's just a little awkward, that's all."

Soojin grinned mischievously. "Well, whatever the reason, it's definitely an interesting story. You should write a novel about it."

Hana chuckled. "Maybe I will. 'The Mysterious Guy in the Ridiculous Disguise'."

Soojin giggled. "I'd read it. So, what did he look like, aside from the hat and mask?"

Hana thought for a moment. "He was tall, with dark hair. And his eyes... they were really piercing. I felt like he could see right through me."

Soojin's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Ooh, sounds like a hero from a romance novel."

Hana laughed. "Yeah, except for the fact that he was wearing a ridiculous disguise and ran into me twice."

Just then, Soojin's phone buzzed with a notification. "Oh, looks like my Lumina fan group is going crazy over the new concert dates."

Hana raised an eyebrow. "You're still obsessed with Lumina, aren't you?"

Soojin grinned sheepishly. "Guilty as charged. But hey, someone's got to keep the fandom alive."

Hana chuckled and shook her head, smiling at Soojin's antics.

Soojin started scrolling through her phone, giggling at the excited comments from her fellow Lumina fans. Hana watched her, amused by Soojin's infectious enthusiasm.

"You know, Soojin, you're really something else," Hana said, shaking her head in wonder.

Soojin looked up, still grinning. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, you're so passionate about Lumina. I don't know what makes you so excited about them."

Soojin's grin faltered for a moment, and she looked at Hana with a hint of seriousness. "I guess I just like to live life to the fullest, you know? Also, their music is everything."

Hana raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "Uh-huh. And that's why you're obsessed with a K-pop group?"

Soojin's grin returned, undeterred. "Hey, someone's got to keep the fandom alive! Besides, I love how much it annoys you."

Hana laughed, shaking her head. "You're unbelievable, Soojin. I don't know what's more entertaining, your Lumina obsession or your ridiculous excuses for it."

Soojin chuckled, unfazed. "You got to bring some excitement into your life, Hana. And besides, Lumina's music is actually really good. You should give it a try."

Hana raised an eyebrow, doubtful. "I think I'll pass. But hey, keep on enjoying it. Just don't expect me to join you anytime soon."

Soojin grinned mischievously. "Oh, don't worry, Hana. I'll convert you into a Lumina fan yet."

Hana laughed, playfully rolling her eyes. "I doubt it, Soojin. But hey, it's been entertaining watching you try."

Soojin's eyes sparkled with excitement. "You just don't understand, Hana! Lumina's music is life-changing!"

Hana laughed. "Sure it is, Soojin. Sure it is."

As they continued to chat and joke around, Hana's phone buzzed with a notification. She glanced at the screen and smiled.

"Hey, Soojin? I think my mom is calling to check in. I'll be right back."

Soojin nodded, still scrolling through her phone. "Okay, go ahead. I'll be here, living my best life as a Lumina fan."

Hana answered the call, speaking in Korean. "Annyeong, eomma! (Hi, mom!)"

Her mom's voice was worried on the other end. "Hana, where are you? You should be back home by now. I'm worried."

Hana apologized, feeling a bit guilty for not checking in earlier. "I'm so sorry, eomma. I had to make a delivery and then I passed by Soojin's apartment, so I decided to drop by and say hi. I'm actually at her place now and I'll be spending the night here."

Her mom's voice was relieved, but then curious. "Soojin-ah, eotteoke jinaeseyo? (Soojin, how are you?)"

Hana smiled, knowing her mom liked Soojin. " She's doing well, eomma."

Her mom's voice was warm. " That's good. Gamsahamnida(Thank you) Soojin." She added as though Soo jin could hear her.

Soojin, who had been quietly observing the conversation, smiled and waved at Hana's mom, even though she wasn't there. "Tell your mom I said annyeonghaseyo, Hana!"

Hana chuckled and relayed the message. "Eomma, Soojin sends her regards."

Her mom's voice was warm on the other end. "Annyeong, Soojin-ah. (Goodbye, Soojin. Take care.)"

Hana nodded, even though her mom couldn't see her. "Ne, eomma. Annnyeonghi jumuseyo. (Yes, mom. Goodnight.)" She hunged up the phone and turned to Soojin. "My mom says goodbye and take care."

Soojin grinned. "Aww, thanks! Tell her I'll take good care of you tonight."

Hana rolled her eyes playfully. "I'll tell her, but I don't think she's worried about me. She knows I'm in good hands with you."

Soojin beamed with pride. "Of course you are! Now, let's get back to the important stuff. Lumina's new concert dates have been announced!"

Hana groaned, laughing. "Here we go again..."
