Fiona's POV
The sound of hurried footsteps outside my door pulled me from a restless sleep. The tension of the past few days had finally worn me down, but peace never lasted long when Sabrina was involved. Sitting up, I wrapped a blanket around my shoulders, my heart heavy with apprehension.
A soft knock followed.
"Come in," I said, my voice thick with exhaustion.
Stella stepped in, her eyes wide with unease. "Fiona, we need to talk. Now."
I swung my legs over the bed, my heart hammering. "What's happened? Did Sabrina do something?"
"No," Stella interrupted quickly, sitting beside me. "Not yet, anyway. But Leo just sent word. She's arrived."
My stomach sank. "She's here already?"
Stella nodded. "She came early. And she's not alone."
"Victor," I murmured, more to myself than to her. "Of course."
"And," Stella hesitated, "she brought something with her."
