Sabrina's POV
The air was thick with defeat, a bitter taste lingering on my tongue as I made my way through the dense forest, alone and wounded. The battle had not gone as planned. I had expected resistance from Fiona and her loyal pack, but not this… not the ferocity they displayed, the courage that poured out of them like blood from a fresh wound. It made me sick.
I leaned against a tree, clutching the deep gash on my shoulder where one of Fiona's wolves had struck me. The pain pulsed in rhythm with my heartbeat, but it was nothing compared to the rage simmering inside me. This wasn't over; it was only a setback.
"They think they've won," I muttered, my voice low and venomous, feeling the forest close in around me as if sharing in my anger. "They think that because I'm wounded, I'll retreat like some beaten dog." A smirk twisted my lips. They had no idea who they were dealing with.
