Fiona's POV
The day had been perfect—almost too perfect. Sebastian and I returned to the packhouse as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with brilliant streaks of orange and gold. I felt light, almost carefree, a rare state for me. But the small nagging sensation at the back of my mind warned me it wouldn't last.
"I think we should do this more often," Sebastian said, his hand intertwined with mine as we walked toward the packhouse. "Take time for ourselves."
"Agreed. Though I'm sure the pack will be up in arms about you shirking your duties for a day," I teased, bumping his shoulder lightly.
Sebastian chuckled. "Let them. My Luna's happiness comes first."
Before I could respond, a young pack member ran up to us, her face pale and frantic. "Alpha! Luna! You need to come quickly—it's urgent!"
Sebastian's playful demeanor vanished in an instant, replaced by the sharp focus of a leader. "What happened, Maia?"
