Chapter 132 - A Pet.

After Loki woke up the next morning, he visited the Grey Fog.

Pulling out the Ring of Harvest from the grey fog, and after a little reminder that he could still toss it into the black lake, Loki wrapped it around his finger and poured his spirituality into it.

A deep shadowy creature emerged from the shadows, kneeling to show its submission to Loki.

'Huh…I expected it to look a little fearsome but it literally just looks like a shadow person.'

The shadow creature was one of the abilities of the Shadow Asetic one sequence under the Rose Bishop sequence which Mr. A was.

It had been Loki's fortune that he'd attained such a peculiar creature through the ring since the Shadow Creature had a particular set of abilities that Loki was after.

One of the abilities granted to it was the power to merge into shadows which Loki decided to use to monitor and steal from Ginny Weasley.

With the Shadow creature summoned, Loki sent the creature into his shadow and walked with it towards the Great Hall where he'd verified Ginny Weasley was using the Marauder's Map.

To not arouse any suspicion Loki walked towards Hermione and spoke to her while ignoring the pointed looks one of her seatmates, Ron, at the table was throwing at him.

"What happened Loki?" Hermione asked with a little worry since Loki had never come to her in the Great Hall before.

"I was wondering if any of my packages arrived in the classroom. I seem to have misplaced a mail order that was supposedly already sent to me."

Hermione thought for a second but replied with a soft shake of her head. "No, I'm sorry, but I haven't seen anything like it. Maybe you'll have better luck with Daph."

"Ah…no worries.", Loki said with a smile and nodded, returning towards the Slytherin table where he asked Daphne the same question to keep up his pretence.

'And..done.' Loki thought with a smile as he used his opportunity while talking to Hermione to cross over Ginny's shadow and transfer the shadow creature into it.

The Shadow Creature had been given a simple order, 'Grab any suspicious thing that comes out of her pockets without getting caught and return to him at the end of the day.'

He had conducted the appropriate tests the last night and had found the shadow slave capable of performing the required actions without getting caught so Loki then spent the rest of the day attending classes quietly.

It was only at the end of the day that Loki started to get a little worried since he knew there was any number of ways the plan could end in failure.

'Did a professor catch the creature and beat it out?'

'No, I haven't lost my connection to it, so it should still be alive.'

'Perhaps it was captured and they are currently working on finding out which student used it?'

'Will they be able to trace it back to me?'

'What excuse should I use? Professor Snape gave me the creature to protect me? But then what will I sa-'

"AAHHH-!!!! Mfmfmfmfmfmf."

Loki screamed but midway through the scream, slammed his hand onto his mouth to muffle the scream.

He'd seen his shadow move and it'd scared him since all of a sudden he felt he saw a monocle appear in his shadow which reminded him of Amon. His eyes playing tricks.

"Damn. Where were you all day!?" Loki asked the Shadow creature that was inside his shadow.

Although the shadow creature could not speak directly it managed to convey to Loki through a series of low guttural growls and actions that it took him so long since he couldn't find a way to directly return while staying hidden so it'd waited for nightfall to sneak away.

"No one saw you?"

*growl*

"Good job!" Loki said and patted the creature or attempted to since it was much taller than him, yet Loki found it cutely wiggled under his praise.

Loki extended his hand and the Shadow creature then handed him the item he was so hauntingly chasing after, a black diary.

'A diary?'

Loki did not directly pick up the diary but tried to pour his spirituality into it first by covering it in a cloud of his spirituality.

When nothing of note happened he looked at it with confusion.

'Nothing? No runes? No evil cursed spirit? Did he get the wrong thing?'

But seeing the eagerness of his shadow servant, Loki couldn't imagine the overenthusiastic fellow getting it wrong so he asked him.

"What did Ginny Weasley do with this?"

The Shadow servant performed a series of actions once again and conveyed to Loki that she'd been writing into it while the diary responded back.

'Hmm…I see.' Loki nodded and then picked up the diary and looked at it. "You can leave.", Loki said and the shadow vanished back into the ring.

It looked like any other old diary journal that one might use to record their daily life. On its cover was the year embossed in gold lettering '1942'.

'It's about fifty years old?'

'A student from so long ago? Tom?'

Loki carefully opened the first page to see what secrets of Ginny lay written inside, waiting to be discovered and he was surprised when the entire diary was empty except for the first page, written on which was the name, 'T.M Riddle'.

'So this is how he does it.' Loki thought with caution as he turned the book around to see if there were any obvious dangers.

Finding none, Loki plopped it onto his table and picked up a ballpoint pen.

'Should I do it?'

'Should I not?'

'Ah..I should just divine it.'

Leaving the room since he didn't want to expose his divination capabilities in front of the diary that he didn't know if it could see him doing anything, Loki slipped into the attached bathroom where he closed the door and entered the grey fog.

There he picked up his topaz pendant and performed a simple pendulum divination.

"Communicating with the book is harmful for me."

"Communicating with the book is harmful for me."

"Communicating with the book is harmful for me."

"Communicating with the book is harmful for me."

Opening his eyes, Loki found the pendulum was spinning clockwise at a steady pace.

'Do I take this risk?'

'What harm could the diary do to me anyway?'

'Even if it can harm me, it'll probably happen over a long period of continuous writing…'

'Alright, I can take this risk.' Loki thought and began to exit the Sefirah Castle only to stop a second later.

'Should I keep the Ring of Harvest on me or take it off me?'

'By keeping it on me I can pretend to be a Sequence 6 Rose Bishop in front of Tom.'

'But I run the risk of a professor catching me with the ring. Damn.'

'Alright, I'll hide the ring in view of the professor using my illusions, I haven't tested them on professors but I have a feeling it won't be easily seen through.'

After another short divination through which Loki made sure the professors wouldn't spot him with the ring if he covered it with his illusions, he exited the Sefirah Castle.

'Now let's try and see what happens when you write into this mysterious book that is at the centre of everything.' Loki thought as he looked at the seemingly innocent book that was on his table.

'I have a feeling I'll be able to plan to confuse both 'Adam' and you-know-who through this....'
