An hour of continuous fighting had felt like forever to everyone involved for that hour. Most especially Wukong and Shen. But by some miracle, they survived it. During this time, Wukong confirmed that this was meant to be training for the Tethereds who were fighting.
How he came about this conclusion was when he saw several times several Tethereds getting very hurt or on the brink of death. In each of these instances, the wounded Tethered would either be immediately transported to the base, or the Parabeasts they had been fighting would be turned to ash by Hell's Tempest, who had been safely Levitating over the battle field the whole time.
In short, this battle was being regulated, and no one was really in danger.
