Chapter 6 - Solved one, one left

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

For the first time, Kenpote's expression changed, and a glimmer of murderous intent seeped from his gaze as he stared at Moarik .

Moarik didn't even glance in his direction, waiting instead for Light Nosla's response.

"Cleaning up the trash, huh..."

Light Nosla was momentarily stunned by the words.

However, as he felt more and more eyes from various mafia families focusing on them, and recalled Neon's mysterious prophetic poem, which had never been wrong...

"Indeed!"

He gritted his teeth, maintaining an air of nonchalance on the surface: "Such filth should be cleaned up as soon as possible, so it doesn't pollute our sight."

Since the one they wanted to recruit, Moarik , said so, he, as the boss, had to show some stance. Otherwise, as Kenpote suggested, it would really be pathetic and useless.

Moreover, with so many members of other mafia families watching, he couldn't afford to lose face in this situation, no matter what.

"You're courting death!!"

Kenpote's eyes flashed with a chilling light as he heard Light Nosla, whom he looked down upon, dare to act so arrogantly.

"Rip their heads off for me!!"

Kenpote's face twisted with rage and murderous intent as he commanded, "Just like you showed me before in Meteor City!!"

Upon hearing this, the burly, dark-skinned man behind him immediately sprang forward.

His speed was astonishing, like a black shadow shooting out, causing the eyes of nearby mafia members to widen in shock.

"This Kenpote sure found himself a good subordinate."

One of the members from another mafia family muttered in a low, serious tone.

Initially, they assumed that this massive guy, given his enormous build, must possess immense strength and be a classic powerhouse type.

But unexpectedly, his speed was just as remarkable, his agility surprisingly high.

Indeed, Meteor City is full of hidden talents and outstanding individuals.

Even a randomly found giant could possess such strength and speed.

This was far beyond the majority of their bodyguards.

Well, by "majority," they were referring to ordinary people.

However, for Moarik ~~~

"I understand."

After receiving a response from Light Nosla, Moarik nodded slightly.

Then he turned his head to look at the dark-skinned man rushing toward him at high speed.

"So slow."

Moarik shook his head, then—

Whoosh!

Everyone only saw a blur before their eyes, and Moarik's figure had already vanished from his original spot.

All that remained was a small plume of grey dust stirred up where he had been standing.

"Huh?!!"

The dark-skinned man's pupils contracted sharply as he witnessed this.

"Gone?!"

In his vision, Moarik was nowhere to be seen.

This caused him to instinctively pause his charge.

And that pause cost him his life~

Whoosh.

It was as if a gentle breeze brushed past him.

He hadn't even noticed, but suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his throat.

Immediately after, the pain reached his brain, severing all vision and consciousness.

The last thing the dark-skinned man saw was a spinning sky and endless darkness.

Thud.

The tall, muscular body swayed a couple of times before losing all support and collapsing to the ground.

The heavy body hit the ground, kicking up layers of dust.

And at that moment, the dust that rose from where Moarik had stood hadn't even fully settled.

All of this happened so quickly, in the blink of an eye, that no one had time to react.

Not even the man who had fallen, nor the other members of the mafia families watching, could comprehend what had just occurred.

The entire area fell into a deathly silence.

"How is this possible..."

Kenpote, who had been snarling moments earlier, eagerly anticipating the sight of Light Nosla and that cocky brat's heads being torn off, now had his malicious grin frozen on his face.

"Is this a joke?"

His eyes gradually widened, unable to believe what he was seeing—the dark-skinned man lying motionless on the ground.

"Hey, you were the beast who could casually snap five heads off with your bare hands—a monster!!"

His hands, curled into claws, hung in midair, and his voice was filled with disbelief:

"Stop joking around! How could someone like you be taken down by a mere monkey?! Get up!!"

He screamed hoarsely, "Didn't you want to go out and make money, indulge in pleasures, find beautiful women, and twist more heads off?!"

"I promised you all that before; now get up, get up, damn it!!"

Seeing the man still lying there, Kenpote finally lost his composure and began to scream hysterically.

"Is he... really down?!"

Not only Kenpote but even Light Nosla was in disbelief.

He hadn't expected that the fierce-looking, extremely difficult, and dangerous guy would fall straight to the ground like this.

Without even a chance to fight back, he was defeated in an instant?!

He instinctively glanced at Moarik , who had reappeared, casually shaking his hand, looking as if what he'd just done was as simple as swatting a fly.

"One down..."

Moarik lifted his head, his emotionless eyes now locking onto the still hysterical Kenpote.

"One left."
