Chapter 2 - The Blind Box Levels

The Blind Box Levels Are Not Fixed and Immutable.

The factors that influence the level of a blind box are primarily the **characters** and **locations** involved.

At different times and under different circumstances, arriving at the same location can yield vastly different blind box levels.

Let's take a simple example: Whale Island, the birthplace of this world's main character, Gon Freecss, and the starting point of everything.

There is a 100% chance that a blind box will exist there.

However, the level of the blind box that appears on Whale Island with little Gon there versus when he is not there will definitely differ.

Similarly, the Zoldyck family residence on Kukuroo Mountain, when the other protagonist Killua is present, versus when he is not, will result in different blind box levels.

And in the autonomous state of NGL, the blind box levels will also vary greatly before and after the Chimera Ants land there.

This is the primary influence of **characters** and **locations**.

The small, simple, clean house in front of Moarik had its main character already leave, which is why it only left him with a blind box of ordinary grade.

The original owner of this simple, clean house was a charming girl with big, innocent eyes.

Her name was Shizuku.

Full name, Shizuku Murasaki. She was polite but naturally forgetful, blending in with crowds like an ordinary girl.

She looked cute on the outside, but her actual personality was unexpectedly calm and ruthless, fitting the role of a heartless assassin.

Not long ago, she had accepted the invitation of a hulking man who resembled a mad scientist—an affable, bloodless killer—to join an organization.

This organization is the most infamous in Meteor City, and it rose from Meteor City itself to become—

A world-renowned theft group, engaging in heinous crimes around the globe, designated as high-risk A-class criminals on the blacklist.

Even professional Hunters find it difficult to capture them... the Thirteen Spiders, the Phantom Troupe!!

Under the leadership of their team leader, Chrollo, they have left Meteor City and made a name for themselves worldwide.

Including but not limited to robbery, murder, theft, genocide, and even charity work...

"If Shizuku were still here, with her importance as a plot character, the level of the blind box might have been higher."

Moarik walked through the empty streets, his thoughts wandering.

"But if she were still here, it would be tough to get this blind box."

"After all, in a place as dangerous as Meteor City, approaching someone's residence without reason is easily viewed with suspicion and ill intent."

"And such malice is a common occurrence, something everyone here has grown accustomed to."

"With Shizuku's personality and strength, she wouldn't give me a chance to get close."

"And if I tried to sneak up, I wouldn't be able to avoid her perception; I wouldn't even have a chance to explain before getting knocked out by her vacuum and KO'd."

"So, her leaving is actually a good thing; at least, opening this blind box comes with no safety risks~~~"

Moarik mentally reviewed his current situation, reaffirming his decision to prioritize safety in all actions.

"I remember Shizuku joined the Phantom Troupe after the assassination of the eighth member by Silva Zoldyck on July 1996, in the Hunter timeline. She was invited by Franklin to join and became the new number eight."

"At that time, after Silva Zoldyck completed the hit, he rarely complained at home, even saying that assassinating Phantom Troupe members was an unprofitable endeavor."

"It was during this opportunity that the original number four member of the Phantom Troupe, Kalluto, faked his death and left, replaced by the 'Bathroom War God' and 'Fruit Farmer' Hisoka."

"Shizuku joined the Phantom Troupe a year after Silva's hit, in 1997."

"Little Gon catches the Swamp King and leaves Whale Island on January 4th, 1999, which means from now, there are less than two years before the main storyline begins..."

Moarik silently considered the current timeline, thinking about how to maximize his gains from the blind boxes.

"I need to be at the right place at the right time, with key characters present, to get the best grade blind boxes..."

"Come on, can't there be a more convenient, easier ability?"

Moarik was somewhat frustrated, "Like a crossover ability with Doraemon's '4D Pocket', where all those gadgets would be enough to make me a master of tools, and I'd be invincible with all those gadgets."

"Or maybe something like the 'Mojin Xiaowei' ability, which lets you acquire various abilities and powers from dead bodies. Getting stronger by touching corpses would be perfect in a place like Meteor City, where there's no shortage of dead bodies."

"Even a drawing ability would work, gaining power from my own comics... Although I don't know if I have any talent in drawing."

Various thoughts flashed through Moarik's mind, but he eventually accepted reality.

"Forget it; with whatever ability I have, I'll use it accordingly~"

"Of course, the most important thing right now~~~"

Moarik looked up at the darkening sky, realizing it was getting late, and quickened his pace.

"Is to get out of this godforsaken place!!"

...

Meteor City is a place filled with exceptional people, and their words are always pleasant.

But the people here are also very cunning and evil; you could face malicious intent from all sides at any time.

Following the philosophy that leaving sooner means safety sooner, Moarik didn't hesitate to decide to leave.

Although there are still many valuable places worth exploring in Meteor City.

For instance, the old homes of the original Phantom Troupe members, Chrollo, Machi, Uvogin, and the residence of the Elders' Council.

But firstly, who knows what dangers those places hold? Secondly, it would be better to first find a safer place outside, open several blind boxes, and improve his strength.

By then, with enough strength, he could visit those places more confidently.

As for how to get out~~~

There are generally two ways. One is like the Phantom Troupe; they rely on their strength to break through the surrounding countries' encirclement and escape.

Even after leaving Meteor City, they have maintained their connection with it, being the main fund providers for Meteor City's military strength.

Aside from them, many external forces also cooperate with Meteor City.

This is the second way to get out.

"For many gangs, a place like Meteor City, filled with extraordinary people, is a great place to recruit subordinates~"
