The guests were as equally as confused as the Jiang Family on the stage. Jiang NianNian had inquired one of the staffs before breaking to tears and a loud gasp. She placed her hand over her mouth, her round eyes wet with tears and her innocent expression was now covered in sadness, "How could this be?! That alcohol is something that had been prepared by my father for twenty four years! Are you saying that it's gone?"
At once the guests whispered to each other, "The alcohol is gone? How could that be?"
"I heard it's a limited edition champagne that could cost up to twenty thousand dollars per bottle."
Another person chirped, "It could be a thief! Who knows, maybe inside this party hall there is a rat who is pretending to be equal as us." And their eyes went to the staff who couldn't find the alcohol, accusing the poor staff as one of the possible thief.
The staff became fearful upon the eyes that circled angrily for an answer around her. She immediately broke down and confessed, "No! Someone who claimed to be your best friend had came for the alcohol bottle. Someone by the name of Wan GouRu!"
Wan GouRu appeared to the stage in a rush and she immediately came out with the splash of alcohol coloring her gown. She looked exasperated as she spoke in a hurry, "NianNian! I'm sorry. I was bringing your bottle carefully as you asked me to. I know you love that bottle of champagne so much and it had been treated with so much care by the Jiang Family so it could be opened for just today. But..."
"But? But what happened?" Mrs Jiang asked aloud with her eyes narrowed. Then she looked down on Wan GouRu's dress and gasped, "Oh no! Isn't that the alcohol on your dress?! What happened GouRu? Tell aunty all the truth!"
AiLin watched everything that happened in disgust. She shivered and shook her head.
What was this pathetic acts they had going on?
It felt like something that came out of the soap opera, making her sure that these people must have all aspired to be an actress but failed as their acting skills was horribly cringe.
She knew this was the type of tricks Jiang Family always love to do which is to— make themselves as a poor victim— while the people they had actually oppressed became the villain. It was such an old trick that they love to overuse.
Tonight's villain role was none other than... her.
"The woman with the midnight gown!" Wan GouRu pointed her index finger through all the guests, making a sharp point at one single person who was leaning her back on the wall while she crossed her arms and watched the entire scene unfolding in front of her. "She bumped to me on purpose and— and she told me that I deserve it. She said that NianNian's night will surely be ruined if she couldn't have her ceremony alcohol and was smiling after breaking the bottle!"
"Are you saying she did it on purpose?" Mr Jiang flared in anger and hit the nearby table with his fist. "Bring me the woman with the midnight gown! Don't even try to hide yourself. I— Jiang HanZou— will make sure that you pay for ruining my daughter's night!"
Everyone immediately gasped some commented how the woman with midnight gowns as only one person. Others commented of how big of a mistake she had made for angering Senior Mr Jiang and that she would soon be facing a punishment and regret her action. As they looked for her, AiLin stepped out while placing her glass to Yu HanYu's hand.
Walking toward the stage, she didn't have to speak for all the guests to immediately created a path for her to walk toward. Everyone whispered how she looked so gorgeous like a fox's ghost, some commenting how she is the one who had came with Li ZiChen. The whispers gradually grew louder that it almost felt like a cheer.
She looked around each Jiang Family members whose face turned frozen as they saw her gown and the jewelries around her neck. Then they stared at her face, gasping for another reason than her beauty. AiLin watched how her parents almost stumble backward and fall off the stage. She saw how Jiang NianNian's face turned as white as a sheet as she stammered,
"YOU!"
AiLin enjoyed the pure fear and chaos that immediately erupted between the Jiang Families who didn't expect to see her.
"I do think that the person who had been bumped by the miss over there is me," AiLin tilted her head and played a sweet smile, the sweeter it is, the more frightening it felt. "But I don't remember the story being me bumping into her? Since I have showed myself, why don't we check on the facts together?"
"WHO?!" Mrs Jiang immediately raised her voice, "WHO ALLOWED HER TO ENTER HERE?!"
"What is she doing here— what is she doing here— how could this be?! This is impossible?!" Jiang NianNian cried out.
Senior Mr Jiang held to the back of his neck and faltered three steps backward and fell to the floor, "NO, THIS COULDN'T BE. SECURITY BRING HER OUT! NOW! SHE'S A THREAT! A MURDERER!"
The chaos happened in less than five seconds as soon as they saw her face. How could AiLin not pull a wider smile upon seeing this? Their panic, their screams of fear, all of it had became the best music she had ever heard for the past six years. She enjoyed seeing them shrieking as if they had seen a walking corpse while all the other guests couldn't phantom the reason why the Jiang Family had suddenly let out such an odd alarmed scream.
The security didn't even know if they should come up. As the moment they tried to help out the Jiang Family, men in black clothings appeared right in front of them, stopping them by their steps with a wild grin.
"My my," AiLin sang with the happiest tone she had ever felt for years, "Why are you all screaming so loudly like that? Did you see a ghost?"
