Synopsis

Character & Details

Hello, Author here. In this chapter, I'll explain a bit about the world and characters.

Disclaimer: All elements of this novel—names, languages, traditions, countries, and more—are purely fictional and any resemblance to real life is purely coincidental.

First, let's talk about the title or designation used in this world.

"de" (pronounced like "The"): This title is granted by a god after a significant event where someone must use a specific object or weapon to perform a noble deed or to help humanity. It's also closely tied to their role or job. For example, Grace de Sheriff and Veno de Sheriff are the main characters in the series. To the public, they are simply known as Grace and Veno, ordinary police officers. However, in their true roles, they carry the "de" title, signifying their divine purpose and the responsibilities bestowed upon them.

The title "de Sheriff" indicates that they are part of a special unit tasked with maintaining order and protecting the country from threats that go beyond the ordinary. This title is not just an honor, but a constant reminder of their duty to fight against evil cults and demons that seek to disrupt the balance of their country.

"de Aun" (pronounced like "Ant"): Similar to the regular "de," but "Aun" is specifically associated with those of noble or royal bloodlines who have received a special object or weapon from the gods.

In this world, nobles have a family name as their last name. The difference in how commoners and nobles use the title in their names lies in the order. For nobles, their given name is followed by their family name, and then the title. For example, George Grey de Aun Saint.

Okay, now lets talk about this World.

This story is set in a world where steam machines are the height of human technology—think steampunk. Magic exists, but only those called "the given ones" can use it.

Now the Country.

The Republic of Neberia has eight cities spread across its land. I'll dive into more details about the country as the story unfolds.

Last one, the Characters.

Grace de Sheriff (21): A cheerful girl who gets serious when it really matters. She's got long, light brown hair, brown eyes, and a slender build. Grace is very religious and has a strong faith in God.

Veno de Sheriff (25): A serious guy with a bit of a cold attitude, though he warms up a little around people he cares about. He's got black hair, brown eyes, and a slightly muscular build. Veno's coldness comes from something that happened on duty with his old partner four years ago. He really hates evil cults and doesn't believe much in God anymore because of what he went through back then.

Both Grace and Veno are the main characters, and I'll be giving them equal focus throughout the story.
