Millions of years ago in a land far far away, a cataclysmic battle was taking place. The land was crumbling, the sea was churning, and the air was chaotic.
In the middle of the chaos, three people stood together. They were the ones who came to this land unceremoniously and started all this carnage.
"Give me the divine gift, and we shall leave this land of yours in one piece. Defy us, and you all shall perish." The man in the middle stated as he started to hover a few feet in the air.
The face of the people on the ground turned darker. They know they can't win this war even if all the powers in this land battled against the three adversaries in front of them.
"We'd rather die than surrender the divine gift to the likes of you." One elder hissed.
The three adversaries started to chuckle. Finding it amusing that despite their imminent doom, the people of this land continued to be defiant.
"Fine, death it is then." The man in the middle spoke again. The three of them immediately went to action as battle spells flew from all directions.
A cataclysmic boom echoed all throughout the land accompanied by a blinding light. The land broke and fractured from the otherworldly power that bombarded it.
When everything subsided, most of the land was no more. The land sank beneath the waves as the ocean ate it away piece by piece. The three adversaries floated together in space looking at the remnants of the now destroyed lands.
••••••••••••••••••••••
The sun was starting to rise up and the day was about to start. The household was busy preparing as it was the day they would be going on a journey to visit the main clan grounds.
"Krios, honey! Wake up now! You wouldn't want to be left behind right?" Krios' mom's voice echoed through the hallway.
Krios shot up immediately and started to frantically prepare his things as this was the day he was looking forward to the most, and he didn't want to miss it.
His name is Krios Whiteflame of the renowned Whiteflame clan. He is the second son of Kane, the youngest son of the Whiteflame clan's head. He was already fifteen years old, but due to an unfortunate incident during his birth, he can no longer progress in his mana cultivation journey.
During his birth, his mother started losing a lot of blood and energy that his dad had no choice but to infuse her with some of his own mana. This sudden surge of mana in his mother's body affected him as some of this mana was absorbed by his mana core prematurely.
A person in this world does not start absorbing mana until they turn twelve years of age at the earliest, which is why this incident caused Krios' young and weak core to fracture— unable to be healed by any know means. This meant that he will never be able to reach the Core Reformation Realm, a realm that will decide whether a person is a mage, or a warrior.
Krios walked out of his room carrying a bag full of his things and went out to meet his family. There in the living room, he saw his older brother sitting alone.
"Are you ready Krios? We'll leave in a minute. Leave your things with your attendants so that they can put it in the carriage" His brother spoke as he stood up to meet his brother.
"Yes I am, how about you Keian? Are you excited to fight in the tournament?" Krios turned excitedly to his Older brother Keian. Since they were young, he has always looked up to his brother. Which is why he can't wait to see his brother show how good he is in front of others.
Keian is sixteen and at the mid stage of the Mana Condensation realm. He was the reason why they were traveling to the main clan grounds. As a young mage, Keian is set to partake in the biennial selection tournament of the clan.
In this world, there are two types of mana cultivator. One is the mage, and the other is the warrior.
Mages are people who use mana and manifest them as spells, external energies, and elemental manifestations. While warriors are people who use mana on themselves. Imbuing mana to their bodies to enhance their physical attributes while also gaining physical manifestations of the element they are most attuned to.
"Yes I am. Will you be supporting me though? I can't wait to test out my strength against other young members of our clan" Keian asked back.
"Definitely! Unless I get bored, then I'm out of there. Hahahaha" Krios answered. And the both chuckled.
Their father then entered the living room and looked at his two sons chuckling.
"Come on, enter the carriage now so we can go. Your mom is already in there waiting" Kane urged his two sons to move.
All three of them then entered their respective carriages and their six hour journey began. Krios can't wait to see the main clan grounds and witness most of his peers battle against each other.
