Luo Lifu, invigorated, lifted his head and stared under the big willow tree.
In the darkness, a vague figure approached from the north, swaggering without any concealment.
"Prefectural Governor, please hear me out, I'm not a kidnapper!"
The figure seemed frail and shouted as he walked, "My whole family has been imprisoned by kidnappers. They instructed me to come here, under the big willow tree, to inspect the ransom."
Hearing this, Luo Lifu and the others exchanged glances.
The kidnappers didn't come themselves, but sent a lackey!
Luo Lifu shouted, "Where are the hostages?"
The figure replied, "I've never seen any hostages. The kidnappers only told me to inspect the ransom and then set off fireworks into the sky once everything is confirmed to be correct."
