Chen Xiao raised an eyebrow, put away her gun, and opened the door.
Outside stood a woman who, without a touch of makeup, still managed to exude an otherworldly elegance, clad in simple attire. Even so, she looked absolutely more beautiful than those women in the streets who went to great lengths to dress themselves up.
What didn't match her subtle facial features, however, was the casual way she leaned against the door with an impatient demeanor.
"How... did you know I was here?" Chen Xiao eyed the woman suspiciously and did not let her in, while also stealing glances down the empty corridor.
"Of course I knew, otherwise why do you think I found an investor who lives in the same neighborhood as you!" she answered.
"Have you been watching me all this time?"
"Don't say it like that, I've been helping you." With those words, the woman pushed past Chen Xiao and walked straight into the apartment.
Immediately, she found herself face to face with a room full of people.
