Area A was not isolated from the other areas—the corridors and such were much the same as before, with the only difference being that the signs were all marked with "A". The doors around them looked virtually the same, standing silently, yet everyone knew that what was contained behind any door could potentially cause a massive disaster.
Since most of the items here were in long-term containment and did not require much experimentation, there were no guards at all... After all, if there were people, they would need to eat, drink, and relieve themselves, and if they accidentally came into contact with any infectious items, the guards would not only be ineffective, but they would also add complications; thus, all the protective measures here were electronically controlled, and most were inside the containment rooms, which is why Chen Xiao and the others encountered no obstacles along the way.
