Danerluo Port, outside the residence of Lis,
Candice and Geoffrey walked outside, silent.
They had just negotiated with Lord Lis, and although both parties appeared amicable on the surface, the two had actually hit a soft nail and achieved none of their objectives.
"Alas..."
Geoffrey sighed, his voice dull as he said,
"This Duke Kane, he really isn't a simple character!"
"Even though he's so young."
"What did you think?"
Candice glared at Geoffrey and said somewhat frustratedly,
"After all, he is a disciple of the Judgement Flame. If he didn't have the capability and vision, do you think King Morton would have easily handed over the Luou Peninsula to him?"
During the conversation earlier, Geoffrey hardly spoke; it was mostly Candice who talked with Lis.
What made Candice somewhat unhappy was that Lis looked at her the same way he looked at Geoffrey, seemingly with admiration but devoid of any desire.
Am I not attractive anymore?
