A hint of a smile appeared on his face, and Marion said to Old Jack,
"Boss, I'll take this dagger. How much is it?"
Actually, Old Jack did not want to take any money. It was better if this harbinger of doom hurried off, but seeing Marion's serious expression, he could only reply,
"One hundred gold coins."
Clang—
Marion took out a small pouch and tossed it onto the table in front of Old Jack.
Old Jack opened it and saw that they were indeed gold coins, but not from the Feis Kingdom. Instead, they were coined in the Southern Laidon Kingdom.
Not minding this detail and without bothering to count, Old Jack nodded and said,
"No problem, the dagger is yours now."
Upon hearing this, Marion smiled, wiped the dagger with his left hand, and a drop of blood, looking like a ruby, fell onto the blade.
The greedy dagger devoured the drop of blood completely, and it seemed to come alive all of a sudden, its filth fading away to reveal the bloody-red blade beneath.
