CHAPTER THREE
His Past Lover
General POV
"How can you fire me when you haven't seen my capability?"She asked in shock.
She knew fully well that what she did was enough for her to get sacked, no one in their right frame of mind come late on their first day at work, but here she is entering the company the same time as her boss so she ought to be fired but she wouldn't just let this jackpot go like that,she was gonna fight for it and make sure she gets it, anyone in her shoes should get tired of living a life like hers.
It's time for her to get something doing something important and something she can be proud of and she knew fully well that her previous life was far from being decent,so this is a chance to start her life afresh.
"I just tested your ability and it's obvious you are far from being capable,so you ought to be fired."He said without wavering.
"If you actually fire me right now,who would fire you?"She asked staring at him innocently.
Bryan shifted a bit in disbelief,it was like his ears were playing unnecessary games with him but the gasps from the other workers is enough evidence to prove that his ears weren't deceiving him in anyway.
"What did you just say?"He asked staring at her intently,she looks quite daring but he didn't expect her to be confident enough to ask such question.
"I said if you were to fire me, who would fire you then?"She asked again crossing her hand on her chest like the boss.
"She is quite daring."Ray whispered behind me.
"Why do you think I should be fired?"He asked pocketing his hands.
"Well,it's quite obvious,as the CEO, entering your own office at this time of the day is a thing that also deserves punishment,but then,you are the CEO and you are free to do whatever you want."
"But then,I'm sure you also came late for a reason cause you don't seem to be one of those bosses who behaves however they want so as you had a reason for coming late,I also had mine."She said with a smile.
"How sure are you that I had a reason for coming late and what is your reason for coming late on your first day at work?"
"You aren't walking comfortably and anyone who is as clever as I am can tell from your look and your walking steps that you are not used to it and I came late cause I had to take my sick sister to the hospital."
"Then you must be a psychologist to get that correctly,that also means that you have no position here."
"That's the little mistake people tend to make and lose a valuable personal like me."
"This is one of the skill anyone in the business world should possess, you should be able to study your business partners, know what they have in mind and decisions they are gonna make, so that's one of the reasons why you really need me by your side as your secretary."She said.
Bryan was quiet for a moment staring at the woman before him and he couldn't help but smile a bit in his mind as the woman reminds him of someone he knows in the past, someone he still wanted to see and the only person in the world he has been searching for.
"Fine, you have your job back,but let this be the last time this would repeat itself,I don't want something like this happening again. " He said making a cute smile escape Octavia's lip.
"Thanks boss,I promise you would never regret employing me."She said.
"Report to my desk in ten minutes."Bryan said before walking into his office leaving his employees in shock.
No one has ever had the guts to talk to the CEO the way she just did and he looked cool about it like it was nothing.
Bryan's POV
I walked to my office and Raymond was walking closely behind like he was glued to me and the reason is quite obvious, he has a lot of questions to ask and he wants me to answer every single one of them.
"What is it this time? Isn't it time you leave?"I asked settling on my chair.
"It's actually time ,but I have a question."
"What question?"
"Why did you let that girl off just now? She was rude to you and you never allow that from any other person except me."
"What makes you special?"I asked teasingly.
"I'm your best friend."He replied.
"Good for you."
"I love her confidence,she spoke confidently and she doesn't seem to be swayed by my looks or my cold aura,so I definitely want someone like that in my company,those are the kind of people I need around me."I said smiling.
"The smile on your face tells me that everything you just said is nothing but a big fat lie."
"You let her be cause she reminds you of feisty."He said making me frown a bit not in anger but in sadness.
The saying is true,the rich can't really have everything they actually desire,at times they don't get what they badly want and I'm not an exception.
"Maybe you are right,but I don't want to go down that lane right now."I said.
"I understand, I won't force you,but I still think it's time for you to grow past that,she is just someone you are meant to meet for a while and it's over,you should open up your heart to someone else."He said tapping my shoulder.
Feisty was my college lover and as stupid as I am,I do not know her full real name, everyone in college calls her feisty and I also joined the queue.
The name was befitting enough cause she was brave and feisty back then, imagine a lady walked up to you and proposed to be your personal sl*t just to be able to sponsor herself through school.
We had a contract and I never met her with any other guy since we were together,she lived a rough life but keeps to her word and she is one of the most secretive lady I have ever met,I'm sure whatever she did in the past was for a reason and she left without a trace leaving me to hang on to the feelings I had for her.
I haven't grown past it,it still lingers in me and I still yearn for her touch.
"It's ten minutes already."I heard a tiny voice making me look up to see my secretary staring at me.
"Come in."I said searching out a file which contains my schedule.
"Here,have it."I said handing the file over to her,she took it almost immediately feeding her eyes with the content.
"Your schedule."She said.
"Yes,I will forward other details to your mail,I need you to go through them...." I trailed as the door burst open.
"Who the heck..."
"It's me bro,the same one you have been avoiding."Leo said walking to the table while my secretary turned around to stare at him.
"Oh,who do we have here...."
