Chapter 7 - Mixed Feelings

Meanwhile, in Jensen's bedroom, a heated moment hung thick in the air. Richard and Jensen lay entwined on the bed, their bodies semi-naked, lost in a passionate kiss. Yet, beneath the surface of this intimate exchange, Richard's mind was a battlefield. Images of Olivia's tear-streaked face from their recent breakup replayed mercilessly in his thoughts. He could feel the warmth of Jensen's lips, but the kiss began to fade, overshadowed by guilt and regret. Suddenly, he pulled away, creating a chasm between them.

Jensen, sensing his withdrawal, shifted closer, her fingertips brushing against his cheek with a gentle yet probing touch. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.

"Nothing," Richard replied, though the weight of his words hung in the air like a lie.

"You can't tell me that nothing is wrong. We were kissing, and your mood just destroyed the atmosphere," Jensen pressed, frustration creeping into her tone.

Richard sighed, the sound heavy with unspoken thoughts. He felt Jensen's warmth against him, her presence both comforting and suffocating. "I just... I don't know," he finally admitted.

"Don't tell me that you are like this because of Olivia?" Jensen asked, her voice rising slightly, a mixture of annoyance and disbelief.

He looked at her, the conflict evident in his eyes. "Do you want me to lie to you?" he shot back, his words sharp and defensive.

"Seriously? You are still in love with her?" Jensen's confusion morphed into indignation.

"That's not it," Richard replied, his voice softer now, almost pained. "I got closer to her to connect with powerful people. I used her, but she... she only ever loved and appreciated me. She'd make a big deal out of a cheap necklace I got her, and she'd wear it for months." He paused, the weight of his actions crashing over him. "I just feel so bad that I ended things with her like that. Her sad face won't leave my mind."

Jensen sighed, the tension in the room palpable. "I understand. Trust me, it will wear off," she reassured him, but the words felt hollow in the face of his turmoil.

A moment of silence enveloped them, heavy and contemplative. Jensen, desperate to shift the mood, broke the stillness. "When are we telling her about us?" she asked, her voice laced with anticipation.

Richard let out a short laugh, the sound devoid of joy. "Us?" he echoed, disbelief coloring his tone.

"Yes, us!" Jensen replied, her confusion deepening.

Richard shook his head, rising from the bed and beginning to dress. "I don't know what you think is going on, but there is no us, at least not for now," he said, his voice firm.

Jensen's eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean? We've been involved for eight months, and you're saying that there's no us?"

Richard turned to face her, his expression serious. "You want us to tell her that we've been in each other's pants for months? I just broke up with her a night ago, and you want me to tell her that I've been fucking one of her best friends?"

Jensen's demeanor shifted, her head twitching nonchalantly. "Well, we are going to have to tell her someday. The earlier, the better."

"Definitely not now." Richard's tone was adamant as he finished buttoning his shirt, the finality of his words hanging in the air. "I really have to go."

"Are you going to the party?" Jensen asked, her voice tinged with a mix of hope and frustration.

"Maybe. But, I need to go somewhere first," he replied, avoiding her gaze as he slipped on his trousers.

Jensen's frustration boiled over. "You want to go see her?"

Richard continued dressing, ignoring the accusation. Jensen stood up from the bed, clad only in her panties, her tits bouncing softly as her body is in motion and her bare skin glowing in the soft light. She advanced closer to him, her heart racing with agitation.

"Hey! I am talking to you!" she demanded, but Richard was already pulling on his shirt, his expression unreadable.

"And why would I want to do that?" he shot back, a sigh escaping his lips as he turned to face the door.

As he walked towards it, he paused, casting one last glance at Jensen. "See you at the party." With that, he stepped through the door, leaving Jensen alone in the room.

The moment he was gone, a wave of excitement surged through her. She let out a breathless "yes" and curled her fingers into a fist, her heart pounding with triumph. Falling back onto the bed, she she rolled over ecstatically, the mattress absorbing her joy as she clung to her pillow, wrapping her arms around it as if it were a trophy. Jensen's heart raced with exhilaration, the thrill of Richard's breakup with Olivia igniting a spark of victory within her. He was free now—free to be with her, even if he didn't recognize it yet.

As she lay there, the soft cotton of the pillow pressed against her cheek, she allowed herself to imagine a future where Richard was hers completely. She envisioned them as a couple, walking hand-in-hand, free from the shadows of past relationships. The thought made her smile, a giddy warmth spreading through her chest.

But beneath the surface of her excitement, a flicker of doubt lingered. What if Richard's feelings for Olivia weren't truly over? What if he was only using her to fill the void left behind? Jensen shook her head, trying to dispel the dark thoughts. "No", she told herself firmly. Richard had ended things and he was with her now, and he would come to realize that they belonged together.
